I'm recently retI'm recently retired and working on my art, which gives me the flexibility to provide attentive care for your pets. Weather permitting, I start each morning with a long walk at the Fells with my own dogs—because a tired dog is a good dog! Throughout the day, I weave in short training sessions to keep their minds active and reinforce good behavior. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine, and I'm happy to give your pets the same thoughtful attention I give my own.ired and working on my art which gives me the flexibility to care for your pets. Whether permitting, I take my dogs on a long walk at the Fells first thing in the morning and later in the day we walk the bike path if that wasn't enough to tire them out.

Safety, trust & environment

I share my home with two friendly dogs and two cats, so your dog will always have company and stimulation in a safe environment. I'm home most of the day, so your dog will rarely, if ever, be alone. I'm happy to follow your dog's routine and can crate them if needed, whether for rest, feeding, or safety. I aim to provide a calm, structured environment that balances play, walks, and downtime.

Information Lorena P. would like to know about your pet

To make sure your dog is safe, happy, and comfortable in my home, I’d love to know the following ahead of time: How does your dog do with other dogs and cats? Do they have any fears, quirks, or triggers (like thunderstorms, skateboards, etc.)? Are they crate trained or used to sleeping in a particular spot? What’s their potty routine and feeding schedule? Do they have any medical needs, allergies, or medications? Are they up to date on vaccines and flea/tick prevention? The more I know, the better I can tailor their care and help them feel right at home.

A typical day

Your dog’s day will be filled with attention, activity, and comfort. Mornings start with a long walk at the Middlesex Fells or around the neighborhood, depending on your dog’s energy level. After breakfast and a bit of rest, we’ll have some structured playtime—tug, fetch, puzzle toys, or basic training to keep their brain busy. Midday brings another walk or yard time (weather permitting), plus lots of pets and companionship throughout the day. I work from home on my art, so your pup is never alone for long. We follow your dog’s usual feeding and potty routine, and I’m happy to crate for naps or bedtime if that’s part of their routine. Evenings are mellow—some light play, cuddles on the couch (if allowed!), and another walk before settling in for the night. I tailor each day to your dog’s personality and needs, making sure they feel secure, stimulated, and loved.

Experienced with High-Energy Aussie

Pet care experience

I've been caring for dogs since I was a kid, starting with the neighbor's pup when they were away. Since 1998, I’ve owned and trained Australian Shepherds, fostered dogs, and volunteered at the Berkeley Animal Shelter. I’m experienced with both puppies and seniors and tailor care to fit each dog's needs. I’ve been training and competing in dog agility since 2000—my dog Juno earned an Agility Trial Champion (ATCH) title, and I’m currently competing with my younger dog. I also hike regularly with my dogs and love keeping them active and mentally engaged.
