I currently work from home in the Wallburg area of Winston Salem. My fiancé & I own a rural piece of property, with about 3 acres fully fenced in. During the day your pup will have the ability to go in and out as they please (I act as a personal door opener full time as well lol). We have a 16 year old chihuahua, two 7 year old lab mixes, and a 4 year old shepherd mix, as well as a cat who thinks he’s a dog. My dogs are very relaxed and adapt to the energy level of whatever dog is staying with us. If you’ve got a lazy pup - they’ll nap together all day, if they want to play- the pups will keep them busy! When your pup comes to play they will be able to fully be a dog- running around the yard, exploring, splashing in the puppy pool and sniffing to their hearts content! Adding in the care of an additional dog is no problem, as we often foster & dog sit. Outdoors we do have two Nigerian Dwarf goats & six chickens - but they are in a separated section of the yard and your pup will not be able to access them to ensure everyone stays safe.

Dogs are allowed on all furniture & there is also a variety of dog beds available to them. We have fresh water available at all times. Your pup will be fed in a separate room from mine to ensure feeding time is a happy time. Your dog will have the ability to go in and out as they please into our fully fenced yard. If you do have a small dog that you would like to stay with us, I will always accompany them outside as a safety precaution - and although my dogs may be big, they absolutely love small dogs. I only host one family at a time so when your dog is here it will only be them & my personal pets. When your pup comes to play they will be able to fully be a dog- running around the yard, exploring, chasing squirrels, and using the world as their playground!

Before I host your pup please let me know the following: 1. Has your dog been around cats before & are they good with cats? If they haven’t been around cats that’s fine, we can evaluate that at the meet & greet! 2. Is your pup up to date on their rabies vaccine? 3. What is your dogs temperament with other dogs and people? Has your pup had issues with other dogs or people previously? 3. Please provide a local emergency contact 4. Please provide your pets feeding schedule 5. Please provide your pets medication schedule, if any Also please note that we do have a wooded yard so I recommend having your pup on flea & tick preventative during their stay.

Everyday I plan on waking up around 6:45 but it typically ends up being earlier thanks to my dogs eagerness to eat. I feed my dogs while I let our guests out to use the bathroom, then I let my dogs out while I bring our guest in to eat breakfast. I clock in to my remote job at 7am, and work until 3pm. I feed my pups dinner at 4:30, and give them a half hour for their tummies to settle before we go outside (but if your pup has a different feeding schedule I will gladly feed them at your specified times). After 5 we typically spend the evening outside if the weather is nice, and then end the day on the sofa to catch up on an episode of whatever series we are watching (right now it’s Hawaii 5-0). Your pup will have the option to sleep in my room, or if they prefer to sleep in a crate I can set them up in our guest room (I have medium & large dog crates available to use here for convenience). On the weekend we enjoy spending most of the day outside, but even my dogs make me take them inside for breaks. If your pet is here over any holiday or special occasion I can guarantee there will be some kind of pup cake for them to enjoy as we love to go all out for the holidays.

I have been working with dogs since 2018, when I started puppy raising for Southeastern Guide Dogs. After raising a guide dog in training, I began working for Southeastern Guide Dogs as a kennel technician. From there I worked a kennel manager at Love My Dog Daycare. It was during my time at Love My Dog that I got extensive experience caring for dogs of all ages & sizes. I am able to administer shots and medications as well as nail trims and baths. I have been trained in canine CPR & first aid. While I no longer work in pet care full time, I continue to pet sit & foster dogs!

Gus had a great day with Loren and her pack! Lots of updates throughout the day which was wonderful since it was Gus first time with her. Tons of play and fun! He came home hungry and tired which was perfect. Appreciate having someone who cares like she does and willing to keep us informed.
I can't tell you how happy we were with Loren watching our dog Winston. He is a big goofy German Shephard who really hates going to a typical boarding kennel. Loren sent pictures daily and I knew that with her vet knowledge, she would be able to handle anything Winston would throw her way. She even trimmed his nails (which were desperately needed) as a bonus. I will book again with Loren anytime we need to head out of town.
