A typical day

🐾 A Day in the Life of a Dog Sitter As a dedicated dog sitter, my day revolves around making sure every pup I care for feels happy, safe, and loved. Whether I’m watching one dog or juggling a few, each day is tailored to their specific needs, routines, and personalities. Rise and Shine! Let the dogs out for their first potty break (or take them for a short morning walk) Feed breakfast and refill water bowls Administer any morning medications or supplements Quick brush or wipe down if needed Morning cuddles and playtime to start the day right! If boarding in my home, I stick to the dog’s usual wake-up routine as closely as possible. If I’m in the owner’s home, I follow their instructions for everything from walks to feeding. Walks & Check-ins Take dogs on longer walks or outdoor play sessions (depending on energy level and weather) Clean up the yard or litter areas Drop-in visits for other clients (if scheduled) — quick walks, feeding, and check-ins Training reinforcement if requested (basic commands, leash manners, etc.) During this time, I also send photo updates and quick notes to the pet parents so they know their furry friend is doing well. Winding Down Final potty break or short walk before bed Calm, cozy time with pets — usually cuddles, belly rubs, or just relaxing in their favorite spots Crate or bed setup based on dog’s usual nighttime routine Lights out and soothing sounds if needed for anxious pups
