Pet care experience

Fun walks and adventures around wild Aviemore.

I frequently look after my friends dogs or cats. Their owners appreciate that their pets are returned looking relaxed and happy. A Jack-chi named Grogu leaves his breakfast due to separation anxiety but he’s very keen on breakfast when he’s staying with me. A westie named Gus tends to bark at bicycles but ignores them while walking with me. I was house sitting and looking after a cat named Missy last year. I was told she doesn’t like resting in someone’s lap. Missy climbed into my lap and fell asleep the first day she was with me. I used to work for a boarding family business in Switzerland when I was younger. House sitting a cottage on Isle of Skye and looking after four labradors few years back.

I can’t recommend Logan highly enough. Logan’s communication was excellent in the run up and he gave daily updates on our dog, who got lovely long walks every day. Logan went above and beyond in keeping our home clean and tidy. And most importantly our dog was happy and healthy when we returned. Thank you Logan :)

Logan was the best house sitter ever! He took great care of our dogs and house, and his dog Stella and Wynter became great friends. We can’t recommend him enough. Five stars! 🤩

Logan was a great sitter for our little chihuahua Ava. He was really good at communicating before the day, took the time to meet Ava beforehand, and kept us updated with lots of photos and videos when he was looking after her. She warmed to him straight away and it looked like she had fun going for walks and getting cosy by the fire. It meant we didn't have to worry about her and could relax on our trip, which we were really grateful for. We would highly recommend Logan as a sitter and hope to book again soon!

I can't recommend Logan enough! Brilliant communication and took our wee dog dog out on so many adventures. Logan's jack Russel Stella is so lovely and became fast friends with our dog. We will definitely be booking Maya in again soon. Thanks again!

A typical day

First walk of the day is right after we get out of bed. We have breakfast and the dogs play in the living room or nap on the sofa while I’m doing admin work. Second walk is usually around noon. We go to the big field adjacent to my building where we play fetch. We might book the dog park and spent an hour there playing and running or go to the Loch Morlich beach. Third walk is around 4pm - a longer walk in the woods. Dinner is usually around 5pm or 6pm. We go outside for a short walk once or twice more in the evening and before bed.

It’s helpful to have a written instruction of your pet’s needs: their mealtimes and size of servings. Any dietary restrictions or allergies. The Strathspey vet is on my doorstep. I’d like to have at least 2 phone numbers in case I need to reach you. I’d like to know if your dog dislikes or gets frightened by occurrences such as: loud cars, bicycles passing very close, other dogs, children kicking ball, people approaching to pet, likelihood of chasing deer/hares, tendency to scavenge, etc.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
