Hi, I’m Llys! I’ve spent more than 20 years working with dogs and the past 7 years fostering, boarding, walking, and caring for dogs in my home. I’ve fostered 28 dogs and have extensive experience with large and working breeds, reactive dogs, senior dogs, and dogs with medical in or medication needs. My journey into professional dog care actually started with my own Cane Corso, Zeke. He had epilepsy and significant medical needs, and I learned firsthand how difficult it can be to find someone you truly trust with a dog who needs more than basic boarding. Zeke became the reason I started providing the kind of care I had struggled to find myself. Today, I run Coastal Canine Collective, providing personalized, home-based dog care in the Encinitas/Olivenhain area. My goal is simple: your dog should feel like they’re staying with someone they know—not at a boarding facility. Dogs in my care enjoy a large, beautiful yard, plenty of indoor time with our family, daily exercise, play, enrichment, and lots of individual attention. I intentionally keep my bookings limited so I can provide hands-on care rather than having a house full of dogs. I’m experienced with: • Large & working breeds • Puppies through seniors • Reactive or sensitive dogs • Oral medications & more complex medication schedules • Dogs with epilepsy and other ongoing medical needs • Multi-dog households • Structured walks, enrichment & exercise I offer overnight boarding, daycare, dog walking, and adventure/pack walk days. I’m insured, experienced, and comfortable handling dogs who may need a little more knowledge, patience, or structure than the average sitter can provide. Meet & greets are required for new boarding and daycare clients because I want to make sure your dog feels comfortable here and that we’re a great fit for each other. Couldn't have been a better experience for us and our dogs. Great place to keep your dogs while you are out of town and consider yourself lucky if Llysia is available when you need her to watch your dogs. Consistent updates, dogs were kept active, and they seemed like they would have preferred to stay at least a few more days. :)
What an absolute dream to have Llysia take care our dogs while on vacation. Nice to know we didn’t have to worry about them. She and her family showed them lots of love!

Schedule
Pet care is a natural part of my everyday routine! I’m home throughout the day, which allows me to provide plenty of hands-on attention rather than leaving dogs alone for long stretches. Our days typically include morning and afternoon walks, outdoor play and enrichment in our large yard, plenty of indoor family time, and lots of opportunities for rest and one-on-one attention. I keep the number of dogs in my care limited so I can tailor each day to the dogs I have with me—whether that means extra exercise for a high-energy dog, a slower day for a senior, medication on a specific schedule, or simply lots of snuggles and companionship. Dogs staying with me truly become part of our daily life and routine while they’re here

I keep my bookings intentionally limited so dogs can be closely supervised and receive individualized attention. I have a large yard for supervised outdoor time, and dogs are welcomed into our home as part of the family. With 20 years of dog experience, I’m comfortable reading canine body language, managing different personalities, and recognizing when a dog may need space, structure, or a change in environment. Weather we are lounging, playing in the yard or on a walk I will always have eyes on your dog

A typical day
I live by multiple horse trails and love to walk them in the morning. I also have extensive training in obedience and socialization and love to mentally stimulate and challenge dogs to help get their willies out throughout the day with puzzles, games and toys.
