I work at a school so I have lots of time off throughout the year and I come home every day. Most of the time it’s just me and my two girls.

A typical day
A typical day with the pets I watch is all about making sure they feel happy, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. I love playing with animals and keeping them entertained with a variety of toys and activities. Whether they enjoy a game of fetch, playing with their favorite toys, or simply spending time relaxing with some companionship, I make sure they receive plenty of attention throughout the day. For dogs, I’m happy to take them on walks and give them opportunities to get some exercise and explore. I believe walks are not only great physical activity but also an important part of keeping dogs mentally stimulated. For cats, I have a cat-friendly environment with window perches and cat towers where they can climb, relax, watch birds, and enjoy their surroundings. I also make time for play and affection based on each cat’s personality. Some cats may want lots of attention and interaction, while others may prefer to observe from their favorite perch. Most importantly, I want every pet to feel at home and have a positive experience. I’ll follow their normal routines, provide plenty of companionship, and make sure they have opportunities to play, explore, relax, and feel loved while their family is away.

- Before caring for a pet, I think it is important to know as much as possible about their personality, routine, and individual needs. I would like to know whether they are more independent and prefer to be left alone or if they enjoy lots of attention, affection, and interaction. Every pet is different, and understanding their personality helps me make sure they feel comfortable and respected. It is also important for me to know about any medical conditions, medications, allergies, dietary restrictions, or recent illnesses. I would want to be aware of anything unusual that I should keep an eye out for, such as changes in eating or drinking, bathroom habits, energy levels, behavior, or anything else that may be out of the ordinary for that particular pet. I also appreciate knowing about any unusual habits, fears, triggers, or behaviors ahead of time. For example, if a pet is nervous around strangers, protective of certain toys, afraid of thunderstorms, or has a tendency to hide, knowing this in advance allows me to respond appropriately rather than being caught off guard. Most importantly, I want pet owners to feel comfortable communicating anything they think I should know. The more I understand about a pet before their stay, the better I can follow their normal routine and provide safe, personalized, and loving care.
