Your pets are my main focus while housesitting, not just a side gig! My approach to housesitting is to temporarily "move in" and live my regular life based out of your home, not just stay there overnight. I do a little freelance work (mostly remote) and of course still step out for errands, gym time, social plans, occasional pet drop-in visits, etc., but I don't work a 9-5 office job, so I'm able to be with your pets for most of the day! This means I also have a lot of flexibility for scheduling drop-in visits!

Safety, trust & environment

I prioritize establishing trust with pets early on, using friendly body language, positive reinforcement, and lots of treats and praise! I focus on maintaining as much consistency for pets as possible. A lot of things are already different when their people are away! So please let me know anything that will make my care for your pet(s) more personalized and consistent to their typical routine. This includes all the little habits that might feel "a bit extra" that we do because we love our pets! I'm happy to go above and beyond the same way I would with my own pets <3

Information Liz B. would like to know about your pet

I LOVE detailed care instructions! You know your pets best, and sharing your knowledge with me makes it easier for me to provide the high-quality care I strive for. I believe more information is always better than less, and if you're ever unsure how to describe something, sometimes a short video is worth 5000 words! Please also let me know about: - Any temporary or ongoing health concerns, mobility restrictions, dietary restrictions, food or environmental allergies, etc. - Anything your dog reacts to while on a walk - Anything your pet has a strong reaction to, like thunderstorms, the doorbell, or even watching a movie too loud

A typical day

Dogs love both physical and mental stimulation! While walking, I like to give dogs a few opportunities to fully sniff an area (instead of always rushing them to keep walking), and I like to "keep them on their paws" by randomly requesting different commands (like a sit, or changing direction), with plenty of rewards of course! If your dog likes to play fetch, tug with a rope (good arm workout!), find treats in a snuffle mat, or lick peanut butter off a kong or lick mat, let me know and I will happily engage them in their favorite activities!

Pet care experience

Hi there! I'm new to Rover but have ~15 years of experience caring for dogs, of all sizes - from Chihuahuas to Great Danes - and all ages - puppies, adults, and senior dogs. I also have ~4 years of experience caring for cats, and I'm very comfortable with social and generally easygoing cats! (I'm not yet experienced with cats who can be more aggressive when wary of new people.) My primary focus is housesitting (with some availability for drop-in visits), and my goal is to provide high-quality care that makes your pets feel more like their Aunt Liz came for a fun visit, not that there's a stranger in their house keeping them alive while their humans are gone. Your pets are my main focus while housesitting, not just a side gig! I'm most comfortable with dogs up to ~100 pounds (though I have housesat a well-trained Great Dane without issue), and my own dogs have ranged from 40 to 80 pounds. I'm very comfortable with having 2-3 dogs in my care, and I even once housesat with 5 dogs. I've both raised a puppy (featured in my profile picture - he often seems to think he still weighs 10 pounds!) and cared for a dog into her senior years until she passed from leukemia (featured in the sunflower field pictures). I've gained a lot of dog training knowledge and experience while training my own dogs and puppy. I follow a positive reinforcement model, and I'm able to balance showering pets with love while still expecting respectful behavior. I'd be happy to informally practice some basic commands with your dog(s) while housesitting! My housesitting rate generally includes the following, with plenty of flexibility for customization: - 2 meals a day, typically morning and evening - Meal-time oral medications or supplements (ex. food topper or pill pocket) - 2 ~30 minute walks a day, typically morning and evening - Regular updates and photos, typically ~2 times per day and centered around meal times and/or walks (let me know if there’s anything you’re concerned about or would like specific updates about!) - Spending most of my time at your home (no 9-5 office job), with play time, potty breaks, and lots of pets and snuggles throughout - Outings typically less than 4-5 hours (errands, gym time, social plans, etc.), with occasional outings up to 6-8 hours (depending on your pet's needs - usually on the weekend) - Sleeping at your home overnight (well-behaved pets are welcome to sleep in bed with me if they prefer to!) - Other light house duties as requested, such as getting the mail, watering plants, feeding fish, rolling bins to/from the curb, etc. - Cleaning up after myself before departure, including washing dishes, wiping down counters, taking out the trash/recycling, and other light housekeeping if requested

We couldn't have asked for a better Rover sitter! Liz took amazing care of our two dogs on short notice and made us feel completely at ease while we were away. She sent so many sweet pictures and kept us updated regularly, which we really appreciated. It was clear our dogs were happy, loved, and in great hands. She also took wonderful care of our home and left everything spotless. We are so grateful for her help and would happily book with her again. Highly recommend!

Elizabeth was fantastic. She is new to Rover, but is certainly not new to taking care of dogs. She did a great job taking care of our dog, oso. She was very attentive to his needs and made sure he had a great time while we were away. She took extraordinary care of our house and was a very clear and transparent communicator the entire time. We sent her detailed instructions, and she clearly read all of them and followed through. 100% will use again. Highly recommend!

Liz has been our person of choice to watch our cats and home for years. The best thing about her being that she truely loves them, joyfully plays with them, and expertly takes care of all their needs when we are traveling. She is a highly responsible caregiver that is easy to coordinate with. She even sends us pictures of cuddle and play time. We will definitely trust her with our critters for future trips.
