I am currently a student where about half of my schedule is spent at home and half of it is spent on campus! What this means is that I should have plenty of time to walk your furry family members, and it’s a great way to destress for me!

Safety, trust & environment
I understand how to read animal body language very well from all of my years working in the vet industry. I know how to approach both confident and fearful animals, as I have a slightly anxious girl myself. I always use treats, attention, and toys as a way to gain their trust and strongly believe in positive reinforcement training, as well as a fear free approach. I know how to ensure that the room is dog/cat-proofed and what signs to look out for should your pet not be feeling well. Important to note that I am fear free certified!
Information Lisa W. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your pet has any special needs, medications, or behavioral needs! It would also be extremely helpful to know if you guys have a consistent schedule and what it is. Finally, I would love to meet you and your furry family member ahead of time to get to know the both of you even more! It is really important that I know all of this information to be as prepared as possible to provide the best care for your loved ones!
A typical day
A typical drop in visit with your pet will begin with making sure that the pet has all necessities available (such as water) and letting out your loved one to use the bathroom. Following this, we will engage in play, enrichment, or a walk to get some energy out and exercise our brain. Before leaving, we will be fed our meal and will be let out once more after our meal and before leaving. A typical walk will consist of many sniffari moments, making our walk even more exciting and engaging! We will not be approaching any dogs and will keep our distance from other dogs to keep everybody comfortable.

Pet care experience
I have had pets for as long as I could remember. Although my family started with small animals at first, when I was in high school, we got our first cat, a Scottish Fold named Cali! Now I have two dogs, Taco and Willow, and a snake, Java. I am also currently a vet student and have worked in the veterinary field for about 5 years. I have also been in the animal care industry for about 6 years. With my experience, you can rest assured that someone experienced in animal care, animal behavior, and veterinary medicine is taking wonderful care of your dog! Asides from knowing how to perform medical procedures for animals, I also love to train dogs. I’m very interested in behavioral medicine and enjoy training my own two little ones. Taco is task-trained by myself alone. Do you have a behaviorally complex or reactive dog? No worries! I have experience handling reactive and anxious dogs, even having managed to train one to be able to walk on the same side of the street as other dogs! All of my background and knowledge will help me take the best care of your family members!
Reviews

Efficient. Great communication and the the cats love her! Wonderful to have a vet student caring for them.

Dependable, great communication and my cats are happy when I return. Excellent.

Lisa was perfect for our 3 cats. She updated us whenever anything odd or important happened, or the cats had any issues. She sent us lots of updates and photos, so we could see how they were doing. She maintained their bowls and boxes wonderfully, and played with them a lot. The cats did great while we were gone, and we were so happy with how happy they seemed.
I came back to very happy cats! Lisa took great care of ‘the boys’. I would recommend her highly, and will plan to use her again to watch my cats.
