Availability

I work from home on a traditional schedule Monday - Friday so my evenings and weekends are generally open to drop-in visits and cat care. I have sporadic morning and lunchtime availability as well, but this varies day to day and I will be transparent about my availability to ensure your pets have plenty of love and attention while you're away.

Safety, trust & environment

Safety, trust, & environment are topics I like to cover at the meet & greet to be sure I am familiar with your home, yard and expectations. Examples items I'd love to learn are if your pet is an escape artist, if your neighbor has a dog that is your pet's frenemy, if you have any interior cameras, if there are any rooms your pet shouldn't be in while you're away, or any additional concerns you may have that I need to be aware of in your home.

Information Lisa W. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know about their personality and quirks! Does your pet hate being pet on his/her head? Is your dog food aggressive? Is your cat a bird watcher? Does your cat prefer to hunt a laser pointer or a string toy?

A typical day

My time with your pets(s) totally depends on the animal! If you have a high energy pet, I'm more than happy to run around for an intense game of fetch or tug-o-war. If you have a low energy pet, I’m completely comfortable curling up on the couch and having a chill visit with snuggles, brushes, and treats. If you have a shy pet, I am patient and also content sitting on the floor to let them have company and warm up to me on their terms.

Pet care experience

I absolutely love all animals and I have loved dogs since the day I was born. I spent most of my high school and college career working in various local pet stores and at a high-end boarding facility. In more recent years, my experience ranges from daytime playdates, drop-in visits and walks, sporadic short-term care, and long-term in-home sitting. Having had dogs my entire life, I love getting to know each dog's personality and unique quirks. I have a hidden talent for guessing mixed dog breeds and have a soft spot for seniors, especially after losing my souldog of almost 17 years in 2021. I'm also typically comfortable and experienced with fish, reptiles, and birds. Coming back from a break from sitting, my partner's schedule and my commitment to my own pets has made it difficult to maintain house sitting requests and I have shifted my focus to drop-ins, but please feel free to reach out if I have house sat for you and your pets before. I may be able to accommodate! Meet & greets are very important to me so we can ensure your pets and I are comfortable with each other and so I can see exactly what their day-to-day routine looks like to ensure everyone is safe and happy. After a horrific and costly experience at a traditional boarding facility, I am determined to provide a service that allows pets consistency, dedicated attention, and hands-on care. And as a pet parent myself, I'm very aware of the sitter horror stories that circulate and am committed to providing the same care for your pets that I expect for my own.

Lisa did an AMAZING job watching my senior cat over 9 days. Our regular sitter was out of town, so I was nervous about finding someone new. She exceeded all expectations, including administering two types of medications (that came up at the last minute). She provided excellent, detailed updates that put my mind at ease. I would highly recommend Lisa!!

Lisa has taken care of our geriatric cats multiple times. She's been super with their shifting health needs. I always feel at ease knowing she's checking in on them.

My husband and I cannot recommend Lisa's services highly enough! She took excellent care of both our pups and our home while were out of town for a week. This was our first long-term Rover sitter and both of our dogs have special needs, so we were a little nervous. Lisa put us completely at ease during our meet and greet. Having her at our home was like having a trusted friend there. Lisa sent us daily updates and photos without any prompting. When our return flight home was delayed, Lisa stayed "on call" and offered to extend the stay if needed. Our house was immaculate when we returned. We will definitely be hiring Lisa in the future!

Once again, had an amazing experience with Lisa. She communicated throughout the visit, which is what I need with my older pup. Highly recommend her!
