Safety, trust & environment
Pets feel safest in their own environment, which is why they'll trust a caregiver far sooner in their own home than somewhere unfamiliar to them. That is why I offer pet sitting or drop-in services in your home. However, I do offer weekend boarding services. There are plenty of experienced caregivers on Rover to whom you can reach out and inquire about their boarding services and rates for full week boarding. Also, there are local pet boarding establishments. I encourage you to ask your veterinarian and/or local vet emergency hospital for recommendations.

Information Lisa W. would like to know about your pet
I like to know the breed, age, and energy level of your pets, or any special needs. It's important for me to know food preferences and/or allergies. I also like to know their regular routines in order to be able to accommodate them as much as possible. I like to find all this out during a meet & greet, which Rover recommends to make sure we are a good fit before accepting the job.
A typical day
I work and go to school part-time and so I have a semi-flexible schedule. As a result, I'll have time to play and hang out with dogs and walk with them daily. Cat care is a little more nuanced. I make sure to play with cats at least twice a day, that is if they like playing chase with their toys, stalking strings, etc. . . . I assess cat personalities to be able to give them the care they need. When caring for a cat short-term, often that is not enough time for them to get to know me and warm up to me if they are shy. Of course, I do my best while giving them the space they require to feel comfortable. When caring for a cat long-term and/or through repeated visits, I have success with earning their trust as time goes on. I find just talking to them even when they're shy is a great way to engage with them, and they will eventually warm up. If nothing else, feeding them over time establishes a rapport with them as their caretaker.

HERE FOR YOUR ANIMAL FAMILY CARE
Pet care experience
I love all animals, but I mostly care for cats and dogs, and occasionally chickens as some clients raise them for fresh eggs. I have experience with senior and special needs dogs and cats, administering oral medications, as well as ophthalmic and otic treatments. I also have experience fostering feral cats and kittens. In terms of house sitting, I make sure that your house is as clean if not cleaner than I found it, both indoor and outdoor plants are watered, I take out garbage, recycling, and compost the night before it gets picked up, as well as bring in the mail. Above all, your fur babies and feathered friends will be well cared for and loved during my stay. I'll make sure to take pictures and send them to you to keep you updated.

Reviews

Lisa always goes above and beyond! Just like her past visits, she kept my elderly cat safe, sound, and so happy. Plus, the house was left completely spotless.

Lisa is an absolutely incredible cat sitter. This was our second time booking her, and she again took amazing care of our old cat and our home. We loved the regular photo updates and returned to a very happy cat. Highly recommend!

I can't say enough wonderful things about Lisa. She recently stayed at our home for five days to care for our 16-year-old cat, and the experience was perfect from start to finish. My cat is typically very shy with new people, but he warmed up to Lisa instantly during our meet-and-greet. He was even taking treats right from her hand, which he never does. That immediately put me at ease about leaving him. Lisa was so proactive, asking thoughtful questions to make sure she understood all his needs and habits. While I was traveling, she sent frequent pictures and updates, which I loved receiving. When I returned, the house was spotless, and most importantly, my cat was calm, happy, and clearly had been wonderfully cared for. I already booked Lisa for my next trip. Highly, highly recommend!

Lisa was the most attentive sitter, as always, but went absolutely above and beyond this time when we introduced a huge curveball—adding an additional foster cat to the roster along with our resident cats! She took the time to learn a new, very involved routine for caring for the kitties, and was so patient and sweet to them. We couldn’t imagine a more ideal outcome than how the week went with Lisa. She is truly the best cat and house sitter we could ask for!
