WE ARE A BOARD AND TRAINING FACILITY WHICH IS REFLECTED IN OUR PRICES. WE HAVE MOVED TO HILT, CA.....JUST 20 MILES SOUTH OF ASHLAND, OREGON! I have been rehabilitating and boarding/training dogs for 9 years at Avalon Acres, and now over 5 years at Hilt Ranch (since 2019). I am a Certified Behavior Consultant Canine - Knowledge Assessed (CBCC-KA) and a Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge Assessed CPDT-KA) and a certified premium member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers. I hold a masters degree in psychology and I'm a registered nurse. I specialize in rehabilitating and rehoming shelter dogs that have behavioral issues. I utilize the least invasive minimally aversive training techniques when training dogs. I believe that all dogs need socializing to some extent within their comfort range and experience with their own kind and benefit from exposure to other animals including other humans to some degree. I have increased my rates due to the high demand for a professional trainer/boarding facility. In addition, I provide quality food to supplement the guardian's own usual supply. This has been a significant cost to our business, and so it is now reflected in the price of boarding and training. I am mostly home on our acreage so have lots of time to care for animals. We take dogs out every morning, late night and several times in between. We feed twice per day. We ask that you bring your own food for consistency and provide authorization for us to supplement with wholesome meals, and supplements allowing for special dietary needs and restrictions of course. We cook organic turkey with vegetables, organic eggs, supplements, Dr. Harvey's, Ziwi Peak, Primal Rabbit Freeze Dried Chews, Badlands Air Dried cheese, etc. We have found that those who bring commercial kibble from local stores do not provide the for the needs of the dogs here who may have separation anxiety and are exercised beyond what they are accustomed to. Our "kibble" includes Ziwi Peak (air dried raw) Annamet and Petcurean. We do not feed lentils, chicken, corn, wheat, soy as these often causes allergies. Annamet and Petcurean are Salmon with good grains, duck, and/or lamb. Ziwi and Badlands are Venison and lamb. Depending on weather, we have several homes we can house dogs in. We also have several fenced play yards inside our 44 acre fenced property which we use for outings as well. We have a large building which includes 8 - 10X10 chain linked kennels with beds/crates/blankets. They open up to various sizes, up to 10X40. We have 3 play yards to start out with, and if your dog has a good recall, they can run free within the 44 acres of fenced pasture land.
