Hikeeba Cares - Not Just A Name

DISREGARD REVIEW FROM ROBIN! It contains lies which meet the standard for libel. Nothing in her review is true. I did come the night before at her request, but every other remark is untrue. I have two dozen 5-star reviews from this site and others. Where to start? Three dogs with 11 legs, 50+ cats, 2 alpacas, 7 parrots, farm critters— Out of space! What else? And…um…Ack! Estates, hovels, and— Being retired from the rat race, I now sit full-time. That means I’m there 24/7 to give your Fur/Feather/Scale Babies and home love and care The safety of your pets/home are of utmost importance, so a schedule and information list are essential. I prefer arriving early to go over everything.

Safety, trust & environment

I make certain your home and your pets are in the same pristine condition as when I arrived. The pets (who have lips) will be smiling. Of course, they will be even more exciting to see you again. The house would be smiling, if not for that whole lips thing.

Lisa was very sweet and nice. Tucker seemed to be very happy. She texted me with updates on Turcker while babysitting.

If I could leave ZERO stars, I would- for both Lisa D. AND Rover. I booked with Rover for the first time in May as I had an emergency trip to Florida due to an ailing family member and my friend who would normally have helped was out of town. There's not enough room to type my story but it was a nightmare. I had Lisa come the night before my early morning departure to make sure that she was fine with my strong dog, who needed walks as well as attention to detail on a special needs diet. I ordered dinner delivered and thought we could go on the evening walk together. Long story short - she in NO WAY was capabable to be looking after an active large dog. After telling me she was on lots of meds, the fact that her family would have nothing to do with her, the story of how she fell down someone's stairs while pettsitting and woke up hours later with the cat licking her face, and how she took painkillers (bragging that she took 8 every night), she disappeared after dinner while I was doing the dishes. I found her passed out on her bed in the spare room. I didn't sleep all night before my 11 hour drive knowing I needed to find help. I left a late night message with Rover. More long story short. She would not get up in the morning (I desperately needed to get to my family), and I told her to leave, knowing I was in the lurch for a sitter (for a week). She would not leave. She finally said she would if she could take a shower. She was in the bathroom for almost 30 minutes and I heard a loud crash. I asked if she was alright. No answer. I asked three more times before she said she was fine. I went downstairs to make calls to find a sitter. No one available in my area on Rover. After no noise upstairs for awhile, I went upstairs to find her lying naked on the bed. (Hows this for a review!) She would not leave. I told her I was going to call the police. She was very messed up on something. I can only assume pills as she was not in this state when she arrived. She might be fine to sleep all day and watch your cat, but in NO way was she fine for a dog or to be trusted to stick to a schedule of meds, walks, etc. Or handle a large dog. After she finally left, I went upstairs to find blood and vomit on my comforter and towels. The towel rack in the bathroom had been pulled out of the wall (the crash) and was on the floor. I called Rover several times and got different people each time and had to re-tell the story. They charged me for that one night. Whatever. They let me cancel the remaining days. I paid to have my towel rack fixed and never got the blood out of the white comforter. I didn't leave a review then, as I assumed they would not think of allowing this woman stay on the site or be in anyone's house- or with their beloved pets. In going on Rover today as I need to book several months of petcare in the fall....I see SHE IS STILL ON HERE! Why...after calls with at least four different Rover Support people would this be allowed? I am just thankful I stayed the first night and that I found a dependable option. How are they vetting people to be in YOUR home with YOUR pet? A lawsuit and a tragedy waiting to happen. I was lucky.

Lisa has stayed with our babies several times and we have always been impressed with her. She had an immediate connection with our two shih tzus. They love her and get excited every time she arrives. After she leaves they look for her. Lisa is honest, loyal, funny. It didn’t take long for all of us to become friends. She even helps with my pet sitting business when I’m out of town. She is responsible and we trust her with our two most precious possessions.... and our home.
