My partner Mandy and I are both working from home at the moment so there will be someone available most of the time for back door opening, company and cuddles. I'm flexible and can usually accommodate your dog's normal routine, helping them feel settled and comfortable while they're with us. Your dog will be part of the pack in our home from home environment.

Your dog's safety and wellbeing are my top priorities. We have a loving family home with three children—two teenagers and an eight-year-old who has grown up around animals and is always gentle and respectful. We also have two friendly, dog-tolerant cats, so any dogs staying with us will need to be comfortable around cats and children. Outside, we have a securely fenced area of the garden where dogs can safely enjoy time outdoors. In the summer, they have access to their own paddling pool. We also have a larger garden for exercise and play, although this area isn't fully escape-proof, so adventurous dogs with a talent for finding gaps may need to stay on a lead or enjoy the secure area instead. I always tailor each dog's access to outdoor spaces based on their personality and level of recall to keep them safe. I only accept dogs that I feel will be happy and comfortable in our home environment. This helps ensure a safe, relaxed and enjoyable experience for your dog, our family and our own pets. To determine this, we always like to have a visit from you and your dog to our home. We just want to be as sure as we can that everyone is going to be happy during their stay!

Please let me know if there are any quirks or behaviours we need to know about. We want to provide a safe environment for everyone and we can accommodate some behavioral issues if we know about them first. We would much rather know too much than not enough. We also need to know about medications, allergies, food, level of recall, commands, likes and dislikes or tendencies to steal or escape etc. We can only take large dogs if they are good on the lead and not too boisterous. Unfortunately, I have had health issues which mean I am unable to accommodate dogs that are strong when being handled but I also realise we have some gentle giants out there. We cannot accept dogs who are aggressive to other dogs, people and cats. We need to keep everyone safe. This is our biggest priority.
A typical day
A typical day starts by getting everyone up and fed and outside into the garden. Morning time normally involves getting some jobs done and going out into the garden again. If we're all agreeable we have toys and chews and a bit of checking we still know how to sit, wait or give a paw with some treats for after! The dogs can go into the fenced area any time they like but I go out into the main garden with them just to keep an eye out. A walk normally happens in the evening but we play this by ear. We're fair weather walkers so try and dodge the rain a little bit! When the weather is hot, there is a paddling pool available for water babies. Our house always has people available to give cuddles and attention and there will be other pets around but we're lucky to have a big enough house to be able to provide quieter areas if our visitors need them. The need for a safe space is always respected. If your pet needs crate time, that's fine too.

I grew up around animals and have a love for dogs and cats in particular although I have been known to cuddle a piglet or a bearded dragon at times! I have always had one or two dogs as an adult. A house just feels empty without them. My love of animals motivated me to complete a degree in animal behaviour. This gave me a really good insight into canine behaviour and the ability to look at a situation from a dogs perspective, this has been invaluable at times. I have experience caring for dogs of different ages, sizes and personalities, from energetic young dogs to older pets who need a calmer, more gentle approach. I understand that every dog is an individual and I pay particular attention to how the dynamics between the dogs change when they are living together so that we can keep everyone happy. I always take the time to learn their routine, preferences and needs so they feel safe, comfortable and happy while in my care. I can also carry on training habits or administer medication whilst they are with us. Whether it's walks, playtime, cuddles or simply keeping to their usual routine, I'll care for your dog as if they were my own.

I have known Lindsay for several years and on many occasions she has looked after my dog Chester whilst I have been away from home. This has been for periods of between 4 days and over a week. Chester loves going to be looked after by her and I can tell this by the way he races to the door wagging his tail wildly when we arrive. This proves to me that he is loved and cared for well whilst with her. She is very responsible and immediately phoned me when Chester hurt his leg slightly to discuss if I wanted her to act on it in any way. This made me trust her even more. She has 2 lovely, sociable dogs of her own and they are clearly healthy, happy and well looked after. Chester loves the fact there are other dogs to play with! Lindsay has a lovely big house and a huge outdoor space which is fantastic for the dogs to run around and play. I highly recommend Lindsay as a responsible and loving pet caregiver.
