A Dawg’s Home Away from Home

I’m farm raised and worked with animals all my life. I bred goldendoodles for 15 years, am now retired, and specialized in training puppies. Look on YouTube under Doodledawgs - Linda Denmark for lots of videos of my puppy training adventures. I also have trained two service dogs and have had many of my puppy students go on to become service dogs, therapy dogs and even a school mascot. My best friend, Dickens, has his CGC and is fully trained. I have worked with him to use the FluentPet talking buttons to communicate, which is a lot of fun.

Linda accommodated my hectic morning and last minute booking. I’m usually a little nervous leaving my dog with people, but her photo updates made me feel confident he was safe and having a blast. Thank you so much, Linda! You were a total lifesaver.

Schedule

I am retired so am home most of the time. I have a Goldendoodle service dog who loves other dogs to interact with. In my home your dog will be right at home and happy during your absence. I like to take walks and walking with a dog is much nicer than walking alone.

Safety, trust & environment

I have a 2 year old Goldendoodle to keep your dog company. Your dog will have house freedom as much as possible, depending on behavior. I have a large size crate for times when I need to go out, for your dog’s safety. I also have a daughter who lives in the same area and can come watch the dogs if I am away more than two hours. Dickens has a huge toy-box full of dog toys and is happy to share. One of his favorite ways to make a new friend is to offer them a toy to play with. I do allow dogs on my sofa and bed which are both protected with washable waterproof dog blankets. My home and my yard are chemical free and also free of all toxic plants. I have chemical sensitivities and thus live an organic lifestyle, so no worries here about your pet getting chemical residues on their paws or ingesting part of a toxic plants. Your dogs are safe with me!

Pets

A typical day

There are four brimming toy-boxes of toys for the dogs to play with and a dog friendly sofa with waterproof cover for them to relax on. I have a well fenced dog yard for when they go outside. We go outside for play time and exercise as much as possible, depending on weather and the dogs and I am always out with them. In hot weather outside time is usually an hour in the morning and for boarded dogs, another outdoor playtime in the evening if it cools enough. During the hot part of the day we just go outside for potty breaks. Indoors, besides the toys, Dickens has a talking button pad and several dogs have shown an interest in the buttons.

Linda can host up to 3 pets per night
All dogs must be crate trained, which means they are easy to get in the crate and are quiet while crated. Howling, barking, or trying to break out is not considered crate trained. I will accept some older, proven safe dogs that are not crate trained. The crateing is for their protection and safety if I have to leave, or if a dog is not getting along with the other dogs and has to be confined. All dogs that are not compatible with cats must sleep in their crate at night. If your dog is a counter surfer or destructive in any way, I cannot accept it for daycare or boarding. Jumping on the bed or sofa is allowed. Jumping on tables and countertops is not allowed. If your dog is aggressive in any way towards other animals or humans, I won’t accept them. The dogs I care for are like one big happy dog family and must have a dog friendly temperament for that reason. They make friends and are eager to come back.
