Availability
I can provide mental and physical exercise for your fur family when you are unable to. Mental stimulation can be even more important for pets than physical. I can practice basic cues (for example, sit, down, loose leash walking) during walks using positive reinforcement with your pet. I can do in (your) home pet care visits or walks. Feel free to ask for more details if you have a specific question. I can personalize any session specifically for your pet’s needs.

About Lin M.
Communication
Skills
Safety, trust & environment
My most recent work experience included managing the training department under supervision of our Head Veterinarian and Medical Director who required the utmost safety, cleanliness, and care be taken at all times. I bring this experience with me wherever I go to interact with your pets.
Information Lin M. would like to know about your pet
It’s good to know ahead of time if the dog is fearful of dogs or strangers or reacts to anything else in particular. Of course I’d need to know about any quirks like resource guarding food or toys. Please tell me what activities and rewards (toys, games, food, praise, sniffing) your dog finds most enjoyable.
A typical day
I am happy to take your dog for walks in any area you’d like, neighborhoods or parks nearby. I am also just happy to play with your pups indoors or outdoors in a fenced area at your request. You decide what will happen during visits even if that is just playing fetch. If you just want a potty break, water refill, meds or food, love and attention, you decide what the visit should entail!

Professional Pet Care & Training
Pet care experience
I am a professional dog trainer and pet care provider with a Bachelor’s degree in Behavior. Most recently I received a Certificate in Dog Emotion and Cognition from Brian Hare, PhD, Duke University. Before now, I worked five years at a large (400 dog) vet and pet resort as head trainer. I left on great terms to have more flexibility in my schedule. Which also means I have more time for interacting with your pets! I have successfully trained and cared for all breeds, ages and temperaments of dogs as shown by many positive word of mouth referrals by clients to the community. I have worked with a variety of animals (horses, dogs, cats, farm animals) the last 30 years either as an intern, volunteer or on paid basis. I look forward to meeting you and your animal family. I have fostered many animals over the years and volunteered at shelters in 3 states. I have also volunteered for service dog training and with tracking dogs. In addition, I worked as a volunteer for the Covid detection dog training program for 6 months. In my past professional life I worked at Fort George G. Meade’s privatized housing on base which required an extensive background check in order to work with confidential information and military personnel. In my free time I compete in dog agility. I also love to ride horses whenever I get a chance.

Lin has been awesome with our pup! She provides training during the walks and gives us a lot of helpful notes and feedback. Highly recommend!

Great job! Thanks Lin!

Lin has been nothing but amazing. Her care and love for our dog is if it were her own. Lin is extremely professional, responsive and helpful. Wouldn’t know where we would be without her. Highly recommend Lin if you are looking for someone that has a ton of dog knowledge and super reliable.

Lin is always great with our 3 cats! She is very attentive and gives us detailed updates. We are happy to have her care for them and highly recommend her!
