I work 5 hours a day on Mondays-Thursdays, however my job is very flexible if I need to adjust my hours. The rest of my days are free!

I prefer to have a meet and greet before my first booking. I like to visually see a pet's routine and take notes on what they need. I always get the pet's vet information, just in case of emergency. If the family would like updates and photos, I would be happy to provide them.

Please let me know if your pet has any special routines or needs. I know many pets are shy and might have uncommon fears -- I have worked with a dog who would bark at anyone wearing a hat!! Also please let me know what their favorite toys and treats are :)
A typical day
For dogs, I love to take them on walks and explore parts of the city I might not have before. If the dog has a favorite toy, I of course will give them plenty of play time with their toys. I also like to do treat training, and see if the dogs know any commands. For cats, I love to play with them with string toys or other toys they can chase. My cat loves her laser pointer, so I like to bring one with me to visit other cats. I also like to give my cat exercise by making her run down the hallway after treats, and I do this with other active cats I watch. If your cat is more calm and likes pets and cuddle time, I would also be so happy to do that too.

Hi there! My name is Lily and I love every dog and cat that I have met!! I have helped care for friends, family, and neighbors' pets ever since I was a teen. I grew up with my own dog and cat and I consider myself both a cat and dog person. A bit about me is that I was working as a caseworker at a non-profit in the Tenderloin for the past 5 years. Recently I have transitioned into a new a part time position at the same organization, so I have a lot of time and flexibility to meet you and your pets' needs. I have experience with dogs of all sizes -- from Golden Retrievers and Pitbulls, to Shitzus and Poodles. My childhood dog was a German Shepherd Lab Mix, and I miss him dearly. I love all kinds of cats too-- from the friendly boy cats, to the standoffish girl cats. My cat I have now is a Tortoiseshell, and she really does have classic "Tortitude"! I do appreciate and understand that some pets will take time to open up to you. I find satisfaction in getting a more shy or nervous cat or dog to open up, and I never force a pet to do something that makes them uncomfortable. I have taken care of pets of all ages, and I'm comfortable giving pets medicine. I also have experience house-sitting and I would be happy to take care of your home and pet while you are away! Lily watched my pup for an evening as my dog has bad separation anxiety. She sent me updates throughout the night and my pup was very calm and happy when I returned!

My partner and I are so thankful we crossed paths with Lily over Rover! We have an 8 month old Alaskan Klee Kai that comes off quite guarded and fearful of other adults. Both me and my partner were in a wedding back east in Pennsylvania over Memorial Day weekend, so we needed to find someone experienced who would be willing to pet sit with our cautious pup for a full week. Lily has had some experience with her own pets growing up and was open and eager to learn ways to support Baker and earn her trust. Lily met Baker several times leading up to our departure and we received daily updates about Baker throughout our trip. Lily and Baker became best buds while we were away and it warmed our hearts knowing Baker was in safe hands. Lily’s patience, congenial presence and curiosity in learning stood out to us as great features for taking care of our Bakes.
