When being around any animal understanding how they feel, think, and operate is very important. This is something I strive for when it comes to interacting with pets and other animals. From a young age I have been around dogs, both sets of grandparents had a dog that I loved and lots of my family members had dogs or cats I always gravitated towards. My grandfather use to call me Dr. Dolilly referring to the film Dr. Dolittle because I was always very nurturing towards animals and their dog Penny, who was a Beagle (pictured in my photos). Before I started working with animals as a career, I worked in health care for a bit and also retail. In May 2021 I decided to try working at a dog daycare for a change of pace during the summer. I started at Pittsburgh Paws and there I would supervise dogs outside during play group and clean kennels. I then left this daycare to work for Camp Bow Wow. Here I learned a lot about dog behavior and body language. I also learned how to administer medications orally/injections and deal with a variety of aggression, nervousness, and anxiety driven dogs. With my handling skills, knowledge on dog behavior, and being able to work well with people, I earned a shift lead position and maintained it for about 6 months. I voluntarily left this daycare in February 2023 and started my new job at Belacoop Bed and Biscuit in early August 2023. In between working, I also studied online at CATCH Canine training Academy and graduated July 2023 with a CDTK certificate. In the recent years I also have volunteered my free time rescuing strays off the streets and fostering them to then rehome them. When your pet enters my home or care I will treat them like my own, with compassion and love. I am driven to be convenient and understanding when caring for your pets. One way I offer this is with low prices. No price is to little to love an animal and give them what they need to be happy and comfortable.
