In March of this year I left my corporate part-time job to focus solely on pet sitting and dog training. So, I am now able to spend more time at your home with your dog(s)/pet(s). When I leave your home it will be to run errands or a scheduled dog traininig evaluation or lesson. This typically means I would be away from your home for 2.5-3 hours. I may schedule two lessons for the same day, but do not schedule back to back lessons. I prefer to have several hours between lessons. When I have slow day(s) I'm typically on my computer working on drumming up dog/pet business.

Safety, trust & environment

I provide pet sitting services in YOUR home. As far as daily care goes, I follow your daily routine: feeding, pee/pooing, leash walks, outside play time. Because I have more free time than you do, your dog and I can take longer walks or multiple walks each day, as well as have more play time outside and even inside the house. I'm a dog trainer, so inside play time is structured play time. If you have multiple dogs, I often like to spend one of one time with each dog. Even if it's 15 minutes per day. I promise that your dog(s) will get plenty of TLC. There will be plenty of head scrtaches and back/butt rubs during the day AND at night we can snuggle up on the floor, couch or bed (wherever your dog is allowed) and watch my British crime/mystery shows.

Information Lillian S. would like to know about your pet

Basic need to know info is: name, age, sex, number of animals in the house, how well do multiple pets get along, do you crate your dog, how well does your dog listen to you, is your dog good on a leash, are there any problem behaviors, do meds need to be administered, are there any medical issues.

A typical day

Daily walks.... I can mix it up a bit and go a different direction, explore parts of yor neighborhood you usually don't walk your dog. If your dog is good on a leash and you are comfortable with me taking them to greenway or park to go for a walk I can do that. If your dog loves car rides, he/she and I can could that. Again, you the owner needs to be comfortable with that.

Pet care experience

I grew up on a dairy farm in north Charlotte, Being exposed to all types of animals I am an animal lover, particularly of dogs. For sixteen years I was an Anthrolopology student, studying and working with human skeletal remains. Before I left NC for grad school in 1996, I worked for five years as a kennel assistant at two local vet clinics. When I left academics in 2007 and came back to NC, I worked under a former police canine handler to become a dog trainer and have been training dogs for 18 years. In 2013, I was head instructor for his company, Highland Canine Training, School for dog trainers. The school is an intensive six month course of study, with both classroom and hands-on training time. So, with my 23 years of animal/dog experience, I know how to lift, carry, administer meds (orally and shots), clips nails, check paws, teeth and gums if there is reason to and check and clean ears. I can also recognize signs dogs display when they feel any discomfort, irritation or pain. As a trainer, I am great with dogs, I have that "auroa". With all of my years of experience, know how to read a dog's body language, how to encourage "good" behaviors, discourage "bad" behaviors and work at keeping your dog calm and myself calm in the process. particularly in the house. I've cared for and worked with alll breeds, sizes and ages of dogs. I treat your dog(s) like they're my own when I pet sit for owners. Your babies are my babies.

Jaime was excellent! She’s everything you would want in a house/pet sitter. She took excellent care of my dog & cat who both absolutely love her, provided regular updates with photos, went above and beyond in taking care of and cleaning up my apartment, and even worked on some new tricks with my dog Garry! I will absolutely be asking her to watch them again in the future.

Jamie did great with my nervous dog and my dog took to her where kisses her given. The biggest issue was communication. I specifically requested daily pics and updates. I only received pics for 3 of 10 days and updates were typically short and general rather than providing details especially on my multiple cats.

Lillian was on time, very knowledgeable, my Delilah took to her right away. She dog 🐶 sat for a week for me and sent a picture to ease my mind. I highly recommend her.
