Pet care experience
Experienced pet sitter
Hello, For a year, I had the unique opportunity to house-sit across London, caring for a variety of cats and dogs while their owners were away. From cosy city flats to family homes, each stay came with its own furry companions and routines. I have plenty of reviews on Trusted Housesitters. I've loved animals for as long as I can remember and was fortunate to grow up surrounded by pets. Caring for them was a natural part of daily life, from feeding and walking them to making sure they felt safe and happy. I offer walks, day stays and overnight stays. I work as a freelance journalist at The Guardian and The Times. Freelance work gives me a flexible schedule, which means I can be highly reliable and available for pet care throughout the week. I am particularly available for morning dog walks and love starting this way.

Ratings and reviews
Lila has looked after our dog and would highly recommend her. Easy to communicate with, the house was left clean and tidy and most importantly, our dog was very well looked after and loved while we were away. Lila will send updates you as often as you prefer and Peggy was very relaxed being left with her. Would have no hesitation in recommending Lila
Lila looked after my french bulldog Bijou for several months on and off as a dog sitter. Bijou could be a bit fussy with walks around other dogs, but Lila was always able to manage that so well and Bijou was delighted when she came round. She's organised, always stayed on top of whatever it was Bijou needed (feeding times, house rules, walks etc etc). Overall, she's great!

Schedule
I work as a freelance journalist for The Guardian and The Times, and my workday typically begins in the afternoon, leaving my mornings free. To ensure I can provide reliable care and attention, I only take on pet-sitting assignments on days when I am working from home. This gives me the flexibility to visit pets at mealtimes, drop in for companionship, and maintain their usual routines throughout the day.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
For overnight stays, pets are welcomed into my comfortable two-bedroom flat, which benefits from a large communal garden and is just a short walk from London Fields park. I create a cosy space for dogs in the living room, where they can relax and enjoy watching the world go by from the balcony door—a pastime many seem to particularly enjoy. They also have their own dedicated food and water station in the kitchen. I make sure every pet receives plenty of companionship, affection, and exercise during their stay. Whether that's regular walks, time outdoors, play sessions, or simply lots of attention and cuddles, my aim is always to help them feel relaxed, secure, and at home while they're away from their owners.
