I’m currently in Tulsa for the summer, my hometown, and working part-time as a veterinary assistant at a local veterinary clinic! Since my schedule is flexible, I plan pet sitting and drop-in visits around my shifts to make sure every pet gets plenty of attention, consistency, and quality care. Because animals are such a huge part of my life and future career goals, spending time with pets honestly fits very naturally into my daily routine. I genuinely love getting to know each animal’s personality and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away.

About Lidia R.

Safety, trust & environment
I always prioritize evidence-based, fear-free style care and pay close attention to each pet’s body language, stress signals, and individual history. Every animal is different, so I focus on meeting them where they’re at rather than expecting them to adjust to me. Because I’m very familiar with animal behavior through clinical experience, I’m comfortable recognizing when a pet wants affection, play, space, or just calm coexistence. Whether that means lots of snuggles and engagement or simply being a quiet, reassuring presence, I adjust my approach to what makes each pet feel safest and most comfortable. Animals are truly my world, and I treat every pet with patience, respect, and genuine care while making sure their boundaries are always honored.
Information Lidia R. would like to know about your pet
Before caring for a pet, I think it’s really important to know their normal routine, personality, and any medical needs or medications. I also always like to know how they do with new people, other animals, and being left alone so I can help keep things as low stress as possible for them. It’s also helpful to know what they’re used to in terms of walks, feeding schedule, enrichment, and any quirks or triggers they might have. I pay a lot of attention to body language, so the more I know ahead of time, the better I can make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and understood while their owners are away.
A typical day
A typical day with the pets I watch is all about keeping their normal routine consistent and making sure they feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. I always adjust based on each animal because every dog and cat has their own personality, energy level, and boundaries. For dogs I usually do walks, playtime, and some enrichment like sniffing gamesand affection if they want it. For cats I focus on interactive play, feeding routines, litter box care, and just being present in whatever way they’re comfortable with whether that’s play, cuddles, or quiet company. I always pay close attention to body language and stress signals and let the pet set the pace. My goal is to keep things calm, structured, and fun while making sure they feel cared for and understood.

Future Vet, Current Pet BFF :)
Pet care experience
I’m currently a veterinary assistant and a senior pre-vet undergraduate student preparing to apply to veterinary school. I have hands-on experience working with all kinds of dogs and cats in clinical settings, including nervous, senior, high-energy, and medically complex pets. Through veterinary medicine, I’ve become comfortable recognizing changes in behavior, handling animals safely and calmly, administering medications, and making sure pets feel as comfortable and stress-free as possible. Outside of clinical work, I also have animal care experience through shelters and other animal-focused environments. I’ve grown up around animals my whole life and currently have two dogs and a snake of my own, so caring for animals is genuinely a huge part of my everyday life. What sets me apart is that I truly want to build trust with both pets and owners. Since becoming a veterinarian is my long-term goal, I take animal care very seriously and always try to treat every pet with the same patience, attention, and compassion I would want for my own animals.

Reviews
Lidia is one of the absolute best pet sitters I’ve ever had! As a pre-vet student, I always knew she would take excellent care of my cat and be equipped to handle any emergency that would arise. I felt so secure trusting her because she would always send updates with photos and a comprehensive summary of how things were going. My cat has a history of urinary blockages so I’m always apprehensive to leave him, but she was so observant of his habits and followed his care instructions perfectly! She also has experience with dogs, rabbits, and other exotic/non-traditional pets in various settings, so I knew she would do an excellent job with my fur baby. Her communication and planning was also amazing, considering my hectic schedule and changing routine, she was always so flexible and happy to help out last minute!!
Lidia has always been an animal lover and this has carried through to her studies at the University of Arizona where she is studying Veterinary Science. Lidia’s deep and sincere connection with dogs has been there since she was a child. I cannot think of anyone I would trust more with my animal than her.
Lidia has been a reliable choice to watch my golden doodle and my African Fat Tail gecko. She's extremely invested in her academics as a pre-vet major and gaining clinical and animal hours. Lidia will truly care about your pets and is a great choice as a sitter!
Lidia is a natural with dogs and all animals. She’s so responsible and bonds with pets! She’s definitely a trustworthy choice for any pet owners!
