I grew up in West Marin, Mill Valley, and San Francisco with dogs and cats. I've been a passionate animal lover since I was a kid. Being with them and caring for them is one of my greatest joys in life. I've done dog and cat sitting in Marin County for seven years; overnight/pet sitting for up to a month at a time, day visits, and dog walks. I've cared for up to three dogs in a household at once. These included very old dogs with special needs (i.e. wheelchairs, administering medications, behavioral issues from breeder rescue trauma and missing their human guardians), puppies, and very rambunctious and energetic doggies too. My time spent with them has resulted in calm, happy animals. I work for in animal advocacy professionally, mostly remote, and have also volunteered at farmed animal sanctuaries. I love to take the dogs out in nature, your animal companion will get all the special attention he/she deserves. I pay quality attention to them, talk to them regularly with an affectionate voice, play and cuddle with them daily (if that is what they like of course). And I respect their need for space if they ever prefer or if they're timid at first, as they're each individuals with different personalities. If you are fine with them sleeping on the bed with me, I'm fine with that too! I walk the dogs regularly and send updates in pics/text, daily if preferred. I am responsible, caring and sensitive to pet's moods and wants, conscientious of neighbors and privacy, and keep a secure, clean and safe home while you're away. I collect mail, water plants, take out garbage/recycling and other reasonable home maintenance required. My prior work experience includes fitness trainer, event manager, Associate Producer at TEDxMarin, years in the film and performing arts biz, professional dancer, dance instructor, writer. Lia was so wonderful! Because one of our dogs takes some time to warm up to new people, we had Lia do a couple of walks with her first which was successful! Lia dog sat in our home for 5 nights and everything went smooth. She checked in with us periodically and took great care of the dogs and our home. Our dogs clearly loved her. It gave us great peace of mind while we were traveling. We will definitely book Lia again in the near future.
Lia was awesome! She spent so much time with our two kitties, sent tons of pictures, and kept us updated on how they were doing. Also put up with us changing dates multiple times (just as patient with us humans as the kitties haha)
To say that I'm neurotic and obsessed with my dog is an understatement. So when it comes to finding someone to take care of Jax – an anxious, special needs dog with lots of meds, allergies, and a fun fear-based aggression developed recently – I don't trust just anyone. Lia had watched Jax before, and it was clear that he remembered her immediately. He felt so comfortable with her that he even slept in bed with her (and it speaks volumes that she let him!) Lia was extremely communicative, sending updates and pictures every day, while seamlessly managing two quirky dogs (Jax + my mom's senior dog) and all their different food + meds + schtick. It was so reassuring that I could actually breathe while I was traveling since I knew that he was in such good hands. I'd recommend Lia in a heartbeat!
Lia was wonderful! She was personable, professional, kind and thoughtful. She was very loving and sweet to our 2 senior dogs who would both be thrilled to have her back I'm sure. I highly recommend Lia and would hire her again in a heartbeat!
Lia helped us tremendously when we were in a last minute bind pre-vacation. Our first time using Rover, we felt comforted leaving our Mimi in the care of a “stranger.” Her profile appealed to us, and it’s clear she loves animals. Lia sent updates and pictures and provided feedback and was super responsive. Recommend!
