Pet care experience

SimbasSitSquad;TailWaggingCareWhenYou’reNotThere

At Simbas Sit Squad, dogs aren’t just pets—they’re family. My name is Lexy, and I run our newly found dog sitting service from a loving home shared with my two dogs: Simba, a gentle 7-year-old Collie with Border Collie Drop Syndrome,Wrenley, our spirited 2-year-old crossbreed and my husband Harrison, who also requires TLC! Growing up in a household full of rescue dogs—mostly German Shorthaired Pointers—I’ve been caring for dogs my entire life. That early experience taught me patience, responsibility, and a deep understanding of canine behavior. Simba’s unique condition has driven me to go even deeper into dog care, researching training techniques, body language, and how to provide the best possible environment for dogs with special needs. Every dog is different, and I tailor my care to suit each personality—whether they need extra play, quiet cuddles, or just someone calm and reliable while you're away. At Simbas Sit Squad, your dog will be treated like one of our own—with love, understanding, and a safe space to relax, play, and feel at home.

Lexy was really great at photos and updates, not afraid to ask questions. I felt really confident leaving Pickle with her and would certainly book again

Lexi, thank you so so much! Conker has had the best time and I love how tentative you are to him and his needs and that you treat him like your own. He really won’t want to come home🤣. The second time Conker has been with Lexi and won’t be the last time.

Doggy Day Care • Dec 07, 2025

Our Gordon Setter stayed with Lexy for an evening and he had a wonderful time. He was well cared for and given lots of love and attention. Plenty of fun playing in the garden and he came home very relaxed having had a great stay.

A typical day

A typical day in my dog care begins bright and early with a toilet break. Throughout the day, dogs are let out every 1–2 hours, and when the weather is pleasant, the back door remains open so they can enjoy free access to my safe and secure garden whenever they please and also doggy paddling pools! After their first stretch and sniff outdoors, it’s breakfast time. Each dog’s meal is carefully prepared based on the information you provide — including portion sizes, feeding times, and any allergies or dietary needs. Once tummies are full, it’s time for play! I have a wide variety of toys suited for every age group, from energetic puppies to gentle seniors. There are also stimulating enrichment toys to keep their minds active and happy. Next comes the most exciting part of the day — walkies! Provided the weather is at a safe temperature, dogs are taken out either in small groups (no more than four at a time, so I can give each dog the attention they need) or on individual walks if required. Safety and enjoyment are always my top priorities. After a good walk, the dogs have plenty of fresh water and usually settle down for a well-earned nap. As they wake, we ease into another round of play and social time. While joining in is never forced, I find that socialising with other dogs is incredibly beneficial for building confidence and companionship. At the same time, dogs who prefer more independence are free to rest, explore, or play at their own pace. Later in the day, it’s dinner time, when meals are prepared and served individually to make sure every dog ends the day with a full and happy tummy. When bedtime comes around, I use secure stair gates to provide safe and comfortable spaces tailored to each dog’s needs. Whether a dog prefers to sleep alone or alongside a companion, I can accommodate their routine so they feel settled and at home. Every day is filled with structure, care, and plenty of tail wags — creating a happy balance of play, exercise, rest, and comfort

When caring for your dog, their safety, health, and happiness always come first. That’s why it’s so important for me to know all the key details about your pet ahead of time. Before their stay or daily care begins, I ask owners to provide information such as: Feeding routines: what they eat, how much, and how often. Allergies and sensitivities: so I can make sure no unsafe food, treats, or toys are offered. Health conditions or medications: including any past injuries, ongoing treatment, or special care instructions. Behavioral notes: how they get along with other dogs, whether they’re nervous around strangers, or if they prefer quiet time. Knowing these details means I can give your dog the same love and consistency they get at home, while also keeping them safe. Every dog is unique, and this information helps me create a tailored routine that meets their needs — whether that’s an extra walk, a gentler pace, or a quiet nap away from the group. By sharing as much as possible about your pet, you’re helping me ensure their time with me is not just comfortable, but truly enjoyable. Also, share some pics of your happy doggies!
