After 16.5 years, my sweet boy, Scooter, a Maltese, passed away and I feel such a loss without him. I'm not ready to get another puppy at this time so this works for me. I prefer smaller dogs as my place isn't big enough for larger dogs. I have a small backyard and plenty of beautiful surrounding areas for walking. I know sometimes dogs can feel anxious about being left so I make sure to give them plenty of attention. I can walk them, feed them, snuggle with them and watch them overnight if you are traveling.
