Pet care experience
We'll treat your pup like family!
I grew up with all kinds of animals--dogs, cats, bunnies, hamsters and even a parrot. We always had a family dog. We've had our Goldendoodle, Ozzie, since 2020 and have spent hours training him. I've listened to many hours of podcasts led by professional dog trainers, read several books on dog training, and have seen results as I've trained my own dog using only humane dog training practices. My husband and I both work from home, so between us and our three kids, your pup will get lots of human interaction! Having had a home full of dogs for the past three years, our kids know what to do and not do with dogs. Our dog Ozzie is in heaven with doggie playmates and is gentle with all dogs.

Ratings and reviews
I felt completely confident leaving our dog Lucy with Leslie and her family after our meet and greet. She's clearly very knowledgable about working with dogs and has great plans in place for doing so. She provided regular updates with pictures. Based on those pictures, I'm pretty sure Lucy would have liked to stay even longer than the 10 days we were gone! We will definitely be reaching out again the next time we need care for our pup.

We’re super appreciative of Leslie and her family taking great care of our 2 Goldens while we were backpacking for 5 days! Despite being off the grid during that time she still sent pics which we loved seeing after we got off trail. We’ll definitely rebook with Leslie if we ever need doggy sitting in the Ft Collins area again!

Leslie took great care of our pups!

We were in need of a last minute sitter and Leslie came to the rescue. She provided photos and updates as well as wonderful care for our 2 dogs. We definitely will book with her again.
Leslie and Ozzie dog were both so nice and welcoming. Rebel seemed to enjoy her overnight stay! I would recommend Leslie to anyone!
Leslie was able to watch Rory last minute for multiple nights over a holiday weekend. Rory had a great experience and came home very tired from all the playing!

Schedule
We will try our best to follow your dog's routine. We separate dogs at feeding time and provide plenty of toys for them to play with. When I leave the house, your dog will be gated in a comfortable area of the house either alone or with another dog or two they get along with so they have some company. I can also leave them in a crate if you prefer that, assuming you provide the crate. We are flexible about sleeping at night. Your dog may either sleep in their crate, on our bedroom floor, or roam the house to find a comfortable place to sleep. (I gate off certain areas of the house at night). If they are used to sleeping in a bed, they usually snuggle up with my daughter in her bed.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
In addition to the "Rover Guarantee," I have my own private dog boarding insurance through Kennel Pro. Our front doors both close automatically and we keep gates up when we are boarding dogs. Our yard has a chain link fence with no gaps, but it is standard height, so we can only take dogs who will not jump the fence. I never take guest dogs to dog parks.
Pets
A typical day
Your dog will have FUN at our house (and--unlike the local kennels--we don't charge extra for playing fetch or snuggling with your pup! FREE CUDDLES!). Our house feels like a doggy summer camp. The dogs romp together (supervised) in the fenced backyard, then snooze in the house. They usually get plenty of exercise through playing with each other, but I will sometimes take high-energy dogs on walks or runs with me in the neighborhood. During the warmer months, with your permission, we may take a dog or two hiking at Lory State Park or to swim at Horsetooth Reservoir. Older dogs usually find a quiet corner or couch and leave the younger dogs to play.
