Calm, Premium One Family Care

I have been caring for dogs for more than 30 years, and I genuinely enjoy getting to know each dog as an individual. My approach is centered around attentive, personalized care rather than simply providing a place for a dog to stay. 🐾 I pay close attention to the details that matter to your dog’s well being, including their routine, appetite, hydration, energy level, behavior, comfort and overall mood. I also take safety seriously. I pay attention to weather conditions and avoid walks or strenuous exercise during excessive heat, including hot pavement that can burn a dog’s paws. I know that exercise immediately following a meal can increase the risk of bloat, so I allow appropriate time for digestion before more strenuous activity. 🐾 If you choose to share human food with your dog and are comfortable with me doing so as well, I’m knowledgeable about which foods are safe and which can be harmful to dogs, and I will always err on the side of caution. Your dog’s safety comes first. 🐾 MEET & GREET: I also enjoy meeting you and your dog beforehand so we can talk through their routine, personality and individual needs and make sure my home is the right fit. 🐾 COMMUNICATION/STAY UPDATES: Communication is an important part of the care I provide. I send personalized morning and evening updates with photos and videos, sharing more than simply “your dog is doing fine.” I pay attention to how your dog is eating, sleeping, playing, resting and adjusting, and I share the little moments that make their stay special. If I notice something unusual or have a question about their care, I’ll reach out rather than make assumptions. 🐾 I believe dogs deserve more than basic supervision while their owners are away. They deserve attention, affection, companionship, appropriate activity, plenty of rest and someone who genuinely notices the details. 🐾 DEPARTURE: At the end of each stay, I also provide a personalized summary of your dog’s visit, along with a special keepsake to remember their time here. 🐾 My goal is simple: while you’re away, your dog should feel safe, comfortable, cared for and genuinely happy to be here. They’re not simply being boarded. They’re my guest. ❤️ 🐾 PETS I CAN HOST: I welcome dogs of all breeds and a wide range of energy levels. I prefer to host dogs over one year old and under 100 lbs, whether your dog is an energetic playmate, a senior who prefers a slower pace, or somewhere in between. 🐾 I’m comfortable caring for dogs who need medication, have specific routines, or simply benefit from a little extra patience and attention. I’m also happy to accommodate dogs who enjoy being active, including appropriate runs or supervised swimming with owner permission. 🐾 Dogs staying with me should be reliably house trained and not have a history of indoor marking. I understand that even a well house trained dog can occasionally have an accident when staying somewhere new, and I’m prepared for that. If your dog has a history of marking or frequent accidents, please let me know before booking so we can determine whether my home is the right fit. 🐾 Dogs should also be reliably crate trained and comfortable remaining calmly in a crate for the brief periods when I am away from home. 🐾 My goal is to make sure every dog who stays with me is comfortable, safe and able to enjoy the relaxed, personal environment I provide.

She was fantastic with my dog!! Very patient and understanding of her needs. She allowed her to sleep in the bed with her and every update she sent (twice a day), my dog looked so happy. Highly recommend!!!

Our pups loved staying with Leslie! Our two pups stayed with Leslie for a week. In addition, our oldest pup needed some extra attention after a recent surgery. Leslie was communicative in every step of the process. She sent us detailed updates and photos each day and was able to provide additional feedback for our dog who had more limitations. There is nothing like peace of mind that your pets are being well taken care of while you are away. We could not recommend Leslie more and have already set up dog’s next stay with her.

If I could give Leslie 10 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ well I just did!! She is a dream care giver, treated my girl like she was her own. Leslie sent me daily reports (morning and evening!!) along with photos and even a couple videos. Allie had a wonderful vacation (truthfully couldn’t have gone any better) and we both are relaxed and happy. I am soooo thankful I found Leslie, I wouldn’t consider contacting anyone else. She is TOP NOTCH. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Leslie was amazing! We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! She took incredible care of our dog, keeping us updated with messages and photos that gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. When we came home, our Bella was happy, relaxed, and so well cared for—it was obvious she had been treated like family. It’s such a relief to know there’s someone we can completely trust with one of the most important members of our family. We are beyond grateful for the wonderful care she provided and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a compassionate, dependable, and exceptional pet sitter. We will absolutely be booking with her again!

My dogs absolutely love their time with Aunt Leslie. They settle in quickly as if it hasn't been a couple months since the last stay. I enjoyed my time away without any concerns about the pups best they were under Leslie's care and supervision.

Schedule

I work from home and have a flexible schedule, allowing me to be home with my guest dogs throughout most of the day. I intentionally keep my boarding schedule small so I can give each dog the individual attention and supervision they deserve. 🐾 My days naturally revolve around the dogs staying with me. Regular potty breaks, meals, exercise, play, enrichment, rest and companionship are all part of the day, with the routine adjusted to each dog’s individual needs. If your dog needs more frequent potty breaks than usual, I’m happy to accommodate that, especially when you let me know their normal routine in advance. 🐾 I do have a brief office commitment on Monday mornings, typically for about two hours. I do not routinely crate dogs while I am home, but when I need to leave, dogs staying with me should be comfortable entering and remaining calmly in a crate for that short period. This provides a secure and familiar space while I am away. 🐾 Even dogs who are completely trustworthy when left unattended at home can behave differently in a new or unfamiliar environment. Being comfortable in a crate allows me to keep those brief periods away from home safe and as comfortable as possible for everyone. 🐾 CANCELLATION POLICY: Because I keep my boarding schedule intentionally limited, reserved dates are held specifically for your dog. My cancellation policy is seven days. Once a boarding stay has begun, shortened stays or early pickups are not eligible for a refund for unused days, as those dates were reserved exclusively for your dog and may have been declined to another client.

Safety, trust & environment

Your dog’s safety and well being are my highest priorities. I provide a calm, clean, non smoking home with a fully fenced backyard and no resident dogs, cats or children. No other boarding or visiting dogs will be present during your dog’s stay, giving them a peaceful environment without the added stress or competition that can come with a busy household or multiple unrelated dogs. 🐾 I take the time to learn your dog’s normal routine, personality and comfort level before their stay begins. Details such as feeding habits, medications, exercise needs, potty routines, sleeping preferences, fears, triggers and anything else that helps your dog feel comfortable are important to me. 🐾 I also believe dogs should be able to relax and enjoy themselves while they are here. They are welcome on the furniture and in the bed, have access to the fenced backyard, and can settle into the household rather than spending their stay confined to a kennel or separate boarding area. 🐾 I maintain a secure environment and remain attentive to your dog’s surroundings and behavior throughout their stay. My goal is to provide a place where your dog can relax, feel comfortable and be themselves while you have peace of mind knowing they are in a safe and caring home.

A typical day

There is no one size fits all schedule here. I tailor each day around your dog’s normal routine, personality, age, energy level and individual needs. 🐾 Mornings begin with a potty break and time to stretch their legs, followed by breakfast and whatever the morning calls for. Throughout the day, dogs enjoy regular potty breaks, supervised backyard time, walks when appropriate, play, enrichment, companionship and plenty of downtime. Dogs are always supervised when outdoors. 🐾 Feeding routines can also be individualized. If your dog is accustomed to grazing throughout the day rather than eating meals at set times, that can be accommodated here. With no other dogs competing for food, your dog can enjoy their normal feeding routine comfortably and without having to rush or guard their food. 🐾 Some dogs love a game of fetch or an adventure around the neighborhood. Others are happiest sniffing around the yard, relaxing beside me while I work, or curling up for a good nap. I pay attention to what each dog enjoys and let their personality help shape their day. 🐾 For appropriate high energy dogs, I’m also happy to have your dog join me for a run when weather conditions are suitable and you have given me permission to do so. As a runner myself, I enjoy having a canine running buddy when it’s a good fit for the dog. 🐾 For dogs who enjoy the water, I also have an in ground swimming pool. During appropriate summer weather, they are welcome to take a supervised dip with your permission. The pool is surrounded by a pet safety fence, providing an additional layer of protection and helping ensure that even smaller dogs cannot accidentally fall in. Swimming is always closely attended and entirely optional based on your dog’s comfort and enjoyment. 🐾 SUPPLIES: I have a variety of supplies and equipment on hand to help make each dog’s stay comfortable and accommodate different needs, including raised and regular food and water bowls in large and small sizes, dog beds in multiple sizes, blankets, an assortment of toys, durable dog chews, large and smaller kennels, a dog ramp, and a Chuckit for dogs who enjoy a good game of fetch. For smaller dogs who prefer sleeping in the bedroom but not in a bed or kennel, I even have a pack and play. For smaller or older dogs who are allowed to sleep in the bed but may be at risk of falling during the night, I can add a safety rail to the bed for an extra layer of protection. For smaller dogs with mobility limitations who still enjoy getting out for a neighborhood stroll, I have a dog stroller so they can enjoy the sights and smells without overdoing it. 🐾 You are also welcome, and encouraged, to bring anything your dog especially enjoys from home, such as a favorite blanket, toy or bed. Familiar items can make settling into a new environment even easier, and if something helps your dog feel comfortable at home, I’m happy to have it here too. 🐾 Meals and medications are given according to your instructions and normal routine, with plenty of fresh water and opportunities to rest between activities. 🐾 Weather is always a consideration when planning outdoor time. On hot, humid or rainy days, I adjust the day’s activities rather than pushing a dog through an uncomfortable or unsafe walk. 🐾 The goal isn’t to keep your dog busy every minute. It’s to give them the right balance of activity, companionship, rest and attention so they can enjoy their stay and feel at home.

The more I know about your dog before their stay, the better I can make their time here feel comfortable and familiar. I appreciate knowing about their normal routine, feeding schedule and preferences, exercise needs, medications, sleeping habits, personality and anything else that makes them uniquely them. 🐾 Please also share any fears, triggers, reactivity, separation concerns, behavioral quirks, sensitivities or situations that may cause your dog stress. Knowing these things in advance allows me to plan appropriately rather than having to figure them out after they arrive. 🐾 If your dog has specific potty habits, a history of indoor marking or frequent accidents, please let me know ahead of time. The same goes for any concerns about being left alone or using a crate. There is no need for your dog to be perfect. I simply want to have an accurate picture of their needs so I can determine whether my home is the right fit and be prepared to give them the best possible stay. 🐾 I also appreciate knowing what your dog enjoys. Favorite toys, treats, games, activities, sleeping spots and little routines can make an unfamiliar place feel much more like home.
