Availability
I do not have a 9-5 job, so my schedule is extremely flexible. I have listed my availability to be Monday through Friday, but will consider weekend visits if needed. Very early mornings are usually not feasible, so I generally make myself available after 9 AM.

I do not offer pet care in my own home. We have a young dog and two cats, so the house is already quite full! I am willing to go to your home for daily visits. At this time I am unable to do overnights.
Information Lesley E. would like to know about your pet
I like to know about any and all health or behavior concerns beforehand, and what the expectations are regarding any specialized care. I am happy to work with the guidelines you provide and I will do my best to make it work out smoothly.
A typical day
I will walk as long as the dog I am caring for is accustomed to if it fits in my allotted time, and if time and space allows, there is nothing better than a good session of catch or play. If it is a slower or lower energy pup, I am happy to sit with them and just enjoy their company. When it comes to cats, I do what they tell me to! I will play, snuggle, pet/brush, or just respect their space if they are the mysterious type.

Pet care experience
I have had pets my entire life, and eventually chose to make a career out of it. I worked as a veterinary technician in both small private clinics, as well as large emergency/critical care and specialty hospitals. I specialized in Dermatology at Angell in Boston, (so if your pet has icky skin or stinky ears, I won't be scared off!) and then I worked at a small general medicine clinic in Upstate NY for a couple of years. Upon returning to the Boston area, I worked at MVRH in Woburn in the ER/Critical Care department. Life circumstances have taken me away from the field, so I have been getting my fill of pet care by doing home pet sitting services. I take care of my clients pets as if they are my own. My calm demeanor has always been an attribute when it comes to caring for timid or anxious pets, and I generally can earn their trust quickly. I was certified in Feline Friendly Fear Free handling, which has come in very handy when having to clip nails or medicate a fragile or difficult kitty. I am very comfortable administering medications, including giving subcutaneous fluids in the home. I have some basic dog training experience, so I try to utilize those skills when handling all personality types of dogs. I have volunteered at a couple of shelters walking dogs, and that entailed being able to confidently engage with and handle dogs of all breeds and sizes with a huge array of temperaments. I am incredibly patient, and I always try to meet a dog where he/she is at. Our companion animals are crucial to living a more happy and healthy life, and for many of us, our cats/dogs are the only children we have, so I feel that it is important to find a sitter that understands that and will provide the best care possible. Maybe I can be that person for you.

Reviews

Lesley was great, communicative, and caring with our Benny. She even dropped in extra just to keep tabs on him. We would heartily recommend Lesley!
Winnie and Finn loved their walks with Lesley! We booked Lesley for 4 consecutive days of 60 minute walks. She was a good communicator and was one time. She handled Winnie (74 lbs) and Finn (20 lbs) with ease and kept them safe and happy. Lesley varied the route to keep things interesting for them. I would recommend Lesley without hesitation and would definitely use her again.
Lesley is a true animal lover, a reliable person, and a considerate care giver. I never worry about my pets when she is with them. I know I can expect comforting, concise updates and the occasional cute picture. She is a former vet tech which makes me feel even more secure. Highly recommended !!
Lesley is amazing. She loves animals and it really shows. Not only does she make sure to play and snuggle with my cats, but she also makes sure they get any meds that are needed without a problem. I first met her when I needed help caring for my elderly cat. She has a ton of experience and she could do it all, even when my kitty was on a long list of meds. Lesley always gives great updates and pays attention to the details of how my pets are doing also. I’ve worked with her for years and having Lesley care for my babies gives me so much peace of mind when I’m away from home!
