Leroy has watched my anxious dog before, so I figured it would be a good idea to book with him over the holidays while I travel. This experience with Leroy caused me stress while I was with family. The reason dog owners use Rover is to make sure their dog is cared for and loved in a smaller setting instead of being boarded at a facility. Unfortunately, right when I opened the door to drop off Simon, I was disappointed to see that there were 5 other dogs with his dog on the other side of a gated off area of his house. When I was a Rover dog sitter, I only watched 1 dog at a time, so I didn't imagine this would be the case. There was no communication from Leroy about him boarding multiple dogs at a time prior to drop off; knowing that my Rover profile states that my dog is anxious, I found it extremely unprofessional, risky, and unsafe that this occurred. This made me wary of Leroy's knowledge on caring for dogs, especially those with unique needs. Because of this set up in Leroy's house, my anxious dog was set up for failure. He was at a heightened state for the entire visit - whining, not eating food, etc. Leroy had difficulty administering medications to Simon and complained to me about Simon's whining when he was locked away from people. Simon copes with his anxious by getting 1:1 attention, taking long walks, and chewing on bones. Because of how many dogs their were, he was not allowed to chew for fear of resource guarding, got limited 1:1 attention, and from what I gathered did not get any walks. His anxiety got so bad that he scratched through a wall (this has never happened with another sitter). I got rude feedback after this happened and questioned about whether my dog is ever left alone... He is left alone for 8 hours daily. He does well being alone when he feels safe and calm which he didn't feel with Leroy. Additionally, I did not receive any pictures or updates during Simon's stay until I explicitly asked Leroy for them. While I was out of town, I needed to find an alternative person to watch my dog and then pay for damages. Leroy hosting Simon caused both me and my dog a lot of anxiety. If you have a dog that needs attention, care, and soothing, do not book with Leroy. Find someone who does not host multiple dogs without informing you. Find someone who spends time with your dog instead of keeping them behind a gate.

Leroy took such good care of our dog for 3 weeks! We received daily updates and loved seeing what Earl was up to in the photos. We highly recommend Leroy and will definitely use him again when we need a dog sitter!
