For those dogs with reliable recall, designated parks may allow off-leash activities under close supervision. During the summer months, with your prior approval, I offer refreshing swims for the dogs. Post-swim, a meticulous grooming routine is implemented, including shampooing, cool-air drying, and careful cleaning of ears to ensure their comfort and hygiene. This comprehensive approach is designed to provide the highest level of care for your beloved pets.

A typical day
During the pet care sessions, a thoughtfully planned itinerary ensures a balance of physical activity and relaxation. Commencing with an early morning walk around 6:30-7am for overnight stays, the routine includes a meticulous cleanup, paw and eye check, and breakfast. Following a rest period, a mid-morning potty break occurs around 8:00-8:45am. The highlight of the day unfolds between 11:00am and 1:00pm, featuring an extended riverside walk or a lively visit to a nearby park lasting an hour. Upon returning home, canine companions are treated to snacks (with prior approval). Subsequent to 1-2 potty breaks, dinner is served. A post-dinner stroll and a final potty break around 9pm conclude the day's activities, ensuring that each pet under my care experiences a combination of exercise, mental stimulation, and relaxation.

Best decision ever. Had planned to leave dogs in boarding facility but after their trial day during which I was observing from home on a webcam, I just felt uneasy about leaving them there. With less than a week til our holiday, I reached out to Lena and was so thankful when she agreed to watch our dogs. She’s in an amazing neighbourhood with access to nature trails. On really cold days, Lena brought the dogs to a neighbour’s house for “play dates” with their dog. So flippin’ cute! I’d been worried about the health of one of my dogs but when I met Lena at drop off, I relaxed immediately. She is SO kind and empathetic, and spent the time to talk with me about my concerns. I found out during this convo that she is trained in animal husbandry and is very knowledgeable about animal health. I honestly felt like we’d won the lottery. I was also worried that my male dog might try to mark her house. She told me not to worry about that! They’re used to dog messes and are fully prepared to clean them up. While we were away, Lena sent frequent updates, pics & videos. Lena and her husband even let my snuggly (and over-confident, presumptuous) dog sleep in their bed, right between them! They were spoiled rotten in the best way! Their dog, Poppy, is sweet, gentle sociable and playful. The kicker is, this amazing, comforting, VIP experience cost LESS than what the boarding facility would have. I’m having second thoughts as I write this review because I kind of want to keep Lena a secret! Please keep it on the down low. 🤫
I recently used the Rover app to find a dog sitter, and after hearing great things from my niece and nephew, I decided to book Lena. Since I had never left my dog, Tug, with anyone outside of family before, I was a bit nervous. However, Lena exceeded my expectations. She is very knowledgeable about dogs, which was especially important since Tug is on daily medication. Lena also has a dog, and she took the time to acclimatize Tug to her dog, home, and surroundings. I really appreciated the daily pictures she sent, giving me peace of mind while I was away. When I returned, everything was perfectly organized for pickup. I highly recommend Lena to any dog owner in need of a reliable and caring sitter.
