I am a full-time pet sitter and dog trainer. When I’m not with clients’ pets, I’m with my own two dogs and two cats - training, playing, or relaxing. I also keep several plants, and have kept Betta fish and Hermit Crabs in the past, so should you need help with any other plants or animals while you’re away I’m happy to discuss that as well.

Safety, trust & environment
I offer free meet and greets, approximately 30 minutes long, as I prefer meeting owners and their pets prior to any drop-ins or walks for the comfort of everyone involved. For training inquiries, I offer complimentary 45min consultations to ensure it’s a good fit before committing. I am knowledgeable about dog and cat body language, so I can and will adapt to the pets needs based on what their behavior is telling me in an effort to ensure their comfort and happiness. You can expect a detailed update at the very end of each visit, session, or day, including multiple photos. Boarding dogs will be boarded overnight (~11pm-8am) as well as 2-3 times during the day for 2-6 hours at a time in an area separate from the main area of the house. Daytime crating applies to daycare pups as well. All dogs get a minimum of 3-4 short walks per day, for ample opportunity to relieve themselves as well as enjoy the outdoors however they wish (sniffing around, sunbathing, playing, etc.). Dogs who want/need more exercise will get 1-2 longer walks per day in addition to 3 shorter walks. They also get lots of time to free roam in the boarding area and if they wish to interact with my Lab or other dogs who may be here, they can at that time. (NOTE: If your dog is not comfortable in a crate, I will not be able to board them. I require all dogs in my care be crate trained and will utilize crates for safety purposes. This is non-negotiable. Also, all boarders MUST be good with cats.)

Information Lena D. would like to know about your pet
Please be sure to let me know about any and all special needs or preferences, including medication, specific diet, and behavioral quirks! I like to know how a dog acts around strange dogs, new people, and prey, as well as how they generally are on a leash. (Do they pull? Do they lunge, excitedly or otherwise, at other dogs or people? How is their prey drive [i.e. their response to squirrels, birds, etc.?]) If I’ll be giving medication(s), I’d like to know how it’s generally administered as a well as if they are tolerant of the administration or fight it, to make it as stress-free of an experience as possible. Also, don’t forget to let me know some of your pets’ favorite things to do!
A typical day
Whether your pet(s) prefer playing, snuggling, or doing their own thing, I’ll accommodate their wishes. If your pup has a preferred walk area or distance please let me know, and know that I prefer staying off of main roads when possible for safety.

Experienced Sitter & Dog Trainer
Pet care experience
I don’t remember a time in my life I wasn’t around animals. From growing up with dogs and cats, to volunteering at the SPCA, to then working professionally with animals (as both a sitter and a kennel technician at multiple kennels), I have a wide range of experience when it comes to different temperaments and breeds. In addition to my experience as a kennel technician, I’ve also gained experience through a dog training internship at a training and breeding facility. All of this, paired with my college psychology studies, comes together in my own dog training. I utilize relationship-based training to foster a positive, working dog/human relationship. If you need help training your puppy (or adult dog), please let me know! I’d be happy to discuss rates for private sessions, board and trains, and/or stay and trains (which are similar to a board and train, but your dog gets to stay at home and you get to be more involved!).

Reviews

Lena is the best, she’s watched our 2 cats for a few trips now and despite their shyness they’ll come to her for Churu time. Great updates every day and we never have to worry about anything back home knowing she’s checking up on them.

Lena was professional, accommodating, and reliable. I would be happy to use her service again.

Lena took such good care of my elderly dog including giving him his new meds. She’s the best and gets him so excited to play!

Always great!
