The past 2 summers, I have worked as a veterinary assistant at an Animal Hospital, and plan on going to veterinary school in the future. At an animal hospital, I had the opportunity to work with dogs and cats of varying temperaments, health needs, and ages, from puppies/kittens to seniors. I have experience in animal restraint, and am familiar with the basics of veterinary first aid. Additionally, I have taken care of my family dog, who is now 6 years old, since she was a puppy. My freshman year, I dog-sat for about 6 months daily for a family friend when their dog was a puppy. I have also sat for another family in my neighborhood, who has 2 older dogs and a cat, so I have experience with both types of animals. My responsibilities with these jobs including taking the pets out for walks, feeding them, and playing with them.
