I’ve had 12 years of experience caring for dogs and 18 years caring for cats, so I’m very comfortable handling different temperaments, energy levels, and needs. I have experience with puppies and young pets who require patience, consistency, and structure, as well as senior pets who may need a calmer approach and extra attentiveness. I understand how important routine is, and I make sure pets feel safe and secure while their owners are away. Because I’ve grown up around animals, I’m very observant of behavior changes and small details that others might overlook. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, and I treat every pet as if they were my own.

When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as consistent and stress-free as possible. I carefully follow all feeding schedules, walking routines, medication instructions, and any specific preferences you provide. For dogs, I make sure they get the proper exercise, bathroom breaks, playtime, and attention they need. I’m attentive to their behavior and energy levels to ensure they’re comfortable and safe at all times. For cats, I maintain clean litter boxes, fresh food and water, and provide interaction based on their personality, whether they’re playful, affectionate, or more independent. I always double check that doors and gates are secure, and I treat every home with respect and care. I can also provide updates and photos so you feel confident and reassured while you’re away. My goal is to make sure both you and your pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for.

Leila went above and beyond with her care of my two cats while I was out of town! She sent me detailed updates about how the cats were doing every day and how they were interacting with her. She cleaned up after each visit and even vacuumed up some litter outside of the litter box! I came home to two very happy and well cared-for cats. Thank you Leila!

Schedule
As a college student, I keep a structured weekly schedule, which allows me to plan pet care visits consistently and reliably. I only have one extracurricular activity, so I have flexibility in my routine for drop-in visits, walks, feedings, and playtime. My drop-ins can be up to 2 hours at a time for about 3 times a day. I’m used to managing my time carefully around classes and responsibilities, so I can commit to showing up when I say I will. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I build it into my daily schedule just like any other important responsibility.

- Before caring for a pet, I like to know their daily routine, feeding schedule, and any specific behavioral traits. It’s helpful to understand their temperament, whether they’re shy, energetic, reactive, or need extra patience, so I can adjust my approach accordingly. I also ask about medical needs, allergies, medications, or any past health concerns. For dogs, I like to know their walking habits, leash behavior, and how they interact with other animals or people. For cats, I ask about litter preferences, hiding spots, and how they typically respond to new people. The more I know ahead of time, the better I can create a safe, comfortable, and consistent experience for your pet while you’re away.
