Because Pets Deserve Family!

Hi, I’m Leila! I’m a born and raised New Yorker and an elementary school teacher with over a decade of pet-sitting experience. Because I don’t have pets of my own, your dog gets 100% of the apartment, focus, and affection while they’re with me. My home runs on calm energy, clear boundaries, and predictable daily routines - which dogs love! A typical day starts with a solid morning walk before school, followed by quiet, restful downtime for your pup during the day, and plenty of long neighborhood walks, playtime, and couch snuggles once I’m back in the afternoon and throughout the weekend. Over the years, I’ve cared for dogs and cats of all ages, including gentle seniors who need a slower pace, and I’m very comfortable managing strict feeding times and daily oral medications. My priority is giving you total peace of mind and treating your pup like my own little companion. If your dog is house-trained, comfortable relaxing solo during standard school hours, and enjoys a cozy, low-stress environment, we’ll be a great fit. You can always count on consistent photo and video updates so you know exactly how they’re doing while you're away!

Leila was the best! She asked a ton of questions beforehand to make sure our dog was comfortable during his stay, and sent a ton of pictures so we knew he was in good hands! Our pup had the best time!!

Leila was so communicative both before and throughout Penny’s stay. She checked in beforehand to best understand Penny’s needs as a 15yo senior and how she got along with other dogs before even booking. I was updated with photos and check-ins throughout her stay. I would recommend Leila highly!

Leila took amazing care of Saffie as always. She is always so happy in all of her photos which as a dog mom is exactly what you want to see when you leave your fur baby with someone!

Leila has watched my dog many times now, and she's been wonderful every time. This week, my dog got sick, and we especially appreciated that Leila picked up her medication from the vet and took such great care of her while she was recovering.

Leila has watched my dog a few times now and she is great! She was very accommodating during a family emergency recently which we really appreciated. She always communicates very clearly and is reliable!

Programa

As an elementary school teacher, my schedule is structured, steady, and very predictable. On weekdays, mornings start early with a focused walk and breakfast. During the school day, the apartment is a quiet, restful space for independent pups to nap and recharge. Starting around 3:00 PM, my afternoons and evenings are fully dedicated to long neighborhood walks, dinner, playtime, and couch snuggles. On occasions when I have an early or late commitment, my partner, who also loves animals, can easily step in so your pet stays well-cared for and on schedule. Weekends and school breaks offer full-day flexibility for extended park strolls, daytime company, and customized care. Pick-up & Drop-off Hours: Pickups and drop-offs are available between 7:00 AM and 10:00 PM. On weekdays, timing aligns best with anytime after 3:00 PM. If your schedule falls outside those windows, we can arrange a round-trip pick-up/drop-off service for an additional fee or adjust the booking dates so your pet arrives the evening before.

Seguridad, confianza y entorno

Because I don’t have pets of my own, your dog gets 100% of my household’s focus, love, and care while they’re with me. My home is a calm, pet-proofed, low-stress space in Midtown where safety and comfort come first. When I’m off from school, I love making your dog my little companion for the day, whether that means heading over to Central Park or Riverside Park for fresh air, running quick neighborhood errands together, or just lounging on the couch. During drop-in visits or walks, I treat your home and neighborhood routine with the same high level of respect and care, double-checking locked doors, securing leashes/harnesses before stepping outside, and sticking closely to your instructions. You’ll always receive clear photo and video updates showing how your pet is settling in and enjoying their time. Property Policy: While normal pet wear and tear or minor accidents happen, owners are responsible for replacing or covering the cost of significant property damage (e.g., chewed furniture, destroyed rugs, or broken fixtures).

Un día normal

A typical day starts early with a refreshing neighborhood walk and breakfast to set a calm, happy tone before the workday begins. During school hours, the apartment stays quiet and cozy so pups can comfortably snooze, relax, and enjoy their daytime rest. Once I’m back in the afternoon, the fun really starts! I love walking just as much as dogs do, so we head out for long, stimulating walks to explore and get fresh air. Central Park is my go-to spot, but we also love heading over to Riverside Park for a breezy stroll by the water. Back at home, we’ll break out toys for indoor playtime and settle in for dinner. Evenings wrap up with lots of couch cuddles, belly rubs, and a final evening potty walk before bedtime so your pup goes to sleep happy, exercised, and completely content. On weekends, this expands into leisurely park afternoons, longer outings, and full days of companionship!

**Living on the first floor of an apartment building means hallway sounds are inevitable, so I cannot host dogs who bark frequently, react to door noises, or vocalize when left alone** Separation Anxiety & Independence: Because I teach during school hours, boarding pups must be comfortable resting independently for standard workday stretches. I cannot host dogs with significant separation anxiety during the school week. If your dog requires round-the-clock presence, we can discuss weekend or school-break bookings, with rates adjusted to reflect constant care. To make sure we’re a great fit, please let me know a few quick details when reaching out: Daily Routine: Typical schedule for feeding, walking, and bathroom breaks. Training & Crating: House-training status and whether they use a crate. (If your dog uses a crate at home, bringing it along is strongly encouraged to help them feel secure and settled!) Reactivity & Triggers: Any reactions to hallway footsteps, bikes, skateboards, or other dogs on leash. Temperament & Energy: How they greet new people and whether they lean independent or need constant hands-on reassurance. Health & Habits: Any allergies, regular medications, or chewing/destructive tendencies when left solo. Sharing these details upfront ensures a smooth, low-stress stay for your pup and gives you total peace of mind!
