Information Leigha F. would like to know about your pet
Before I begin caring for your dog, I make it a priority to learn as much as possible about their unique needs, behaviors, and preferences. With my extensive experience working with all breeds, including large and high-energy dogs, I understand how crucial it is to tailor activities and care to each pet’s individual temperament and energy levels. Let me know about their daily routine, exercise needs, socialisation history, and any specific behaviours or health concerns you feel is important to know. This allows me to create a customised care plan that ensures your dog is content in my care. Your pet’s safety and well-being are my top priorities, and by understanding their unique personality, I can provide the best possible experience for them. All boarding furry guests must be comfortable around other dogs and children to ensure they are comfortable. This excludes walking bookings - let me know about any reactive history so I can best support your pet.
A typical day
When taking care of pets, a typical day would include a variety of fun and enriching activities to keep them happy, healthy, and stimulated. Here's how the day might unfold: Morning: Morning Walk/Playtime: Start the day with an energising walk or play session in the park or backy garden. Dogs might enjoy a game of fetch, while cats could engage in interactive play with toys like feather wands or laser pointers. Breakfast with Mental Stimulation: Serve breakfast in puzzle feeders or treat-dispensing toys to make mealtime mentally engaging. This helps to sharpen their problem-solving skills. Midday: Training and Enrichment Activities: Spend time on basic training commands or tricks, using positive reinforcement techniques. Dogs might learn to sit, stay, or roll over, while cats could work on commands like "come" or "high five." Interactive Toy Time: Introduce pets to interactive toys that challenge them mentally, such as snuffle mats for dogs or food puzzles for cats. These activities keep them entertained and mentally stimulated. Afternoon: Socialisation and Group Play: If possible, arrange playdates with other friendly pets. Socialisation is key for both dogs and cats, allowing them to interact with others and burn off energy. Nature Walks and Exploration:Take dogs on a longer walk or hike, exploring different environments and allowing them to sniff and investigate their surroundings. For indoor cats, create a window perch or a "catio" where they can safely observe the outdoors. Evening: Cuddle and Relaxation Time:After a day full of activity, it's time to wind down with some cuddle time. Dogs might enjoy a gentle massage, while cats could appreciate a cozy lap to curl up on. Nighttime Routine: Before bed, engage pets in a calming activity, such as a slow walk or gentle play. This helps them to settle down for the night. Throughout the day, the focus is on providing a mix of physical exercise, mental stimulation, and social interaction to ensure the pets are happy, healthy, and well cared for without becoming overtired.

Reviews

Leigha and her family are fantastic and my puppy had an excellent time with them. I can highly recommend this knowledgeable pet sitter.

Our 6 month old puppy, Pippin comes from a rescue and is known to be a bit of a handful. We've been worried leaving him somewhere else for the first time but Leigha has been fantastic and Pip came home sleepy and happy. I can only recommend her!

Leigha and her Husband were absolutely amazing with our Milo. She understood how to work with him, ensuring he had the best day. She was able to share her experience and knowledge, showing she really understood our pup and his needs. Which gave us the most confidence in his time with her and her family. We got updates on his day, and when we got back, Milo looked super happy. I have absolutely no doubts he had the best day and we were super confident leaving him with her lovely family. We will definitely rebook with Leigha and we know that from her knowledge and experience, he will always have the best time - and be cared for. We would highly recommend.

We can wholeheartedly recommend Leigha as a dog sitter. She is amazing with dogs and has a deep understanding of canine behavior, body language, and their individual needs. From the very beginning, she came across as highly competent, professional, and at the same time incredibly caring. Our two dogs, Kobe (11 weeks) and Loki (2 years), absolutely loved their time with her and her family. It’s especially worth mentioning that we usually find it very hard to leave our dogs in someone else’s care, as they truly are our babies. With Leigha, however, we felt comfortable and confident right away. She kept us updated with regular photos and videos throughout their stay, which gave us great peace of mind. When we picked them up, both dogs were relaxed and happy. Even though Loki normally takes a while to feel comfortable in new surroundings, he settled in wonderfully with Leigha — just like little Kobe. It’s clear that dogs are in the best possible hands with her. Thank you so much for taking such great care of our boys — we would trust her with them again anytime! 🐾💛
