Experienced pet carer with over 10 years experience with dogs and cats. I’m currently a foster carer for a local cat shelter, I have been a cat and dog parent in the past and now focusing on pet sitting, and dog walking. I offer daytime walks, daycare at my home, drop ins, and overnight care as and when needed. Being an at-home parent my hours are fairly flexible on weekdays, and on weekends by request. We currently have one cat of our own living at home, but she is kept separate from any cats or dogs we look after. IMPORTANT For stays in my home: I do have three children at home (a 7yr old, a 11yr old and a 14 yr old) so for any bookings at my home I can only take in pets who are comfortable being around children. I always take care to ensure that pets have space for themselves and that the children treat them respectfully, but I am unable to take in pets to my own home that may be extremely timid or aggressive with children. I am a stay at home Mum, and work part-time at home. So my schedule is fairly flexible, pets are not left on their own unless it’s for short periods. I’m happy to work with clients to accommodate their drop off and pick up times. Dogs usually stay with me and my family in our family room and kitchen which has easy access to our fenced yard. Cats (who sometimes prefer a little more space and quiet) normally stay in our front living room which has a huge window so they can comfortably watch the world go by. I have a pen that can be set up for puppies, but I find it’s best to bring your own familiar items from home to help your pet settle in. I never let a dog outside in our yard without me being present and with small dogs I will often leash them while we use the garden just to be safe.

Leigh does an excellent job caring for my cat, Mango. He likes her, and when I return from my trips, he's always happy, relaxed, and purring immediately. There are never any signs of stress, which shows how well she's cared for him. Leigh is reliable, caring, trustworthy and professional, and I highly recommend her!
Leigh was wonderful with our two cats. She was able to administer liquid medication to our asthmatic cat. Our second cat, who is usually very shy, warmed up to her pretty quickly. It gave us peace of mind that while we were away our kitties were taken care of. We will definitely contact her again in the future.

Leigh was delightful and took wonderful care of our cats while we were away visiting the grandparents. The cats loved her (and for Simba, that's high praise!). We would recommend Leigh for anyone needing cat care while they travel.

Schedule
I Work part-time from home so I am around during most of the day. I’m only usually absent during school drop off and pick up.

I have a fenced in yard, where dogs can enjoy supervised play and potty breaks. I am able to contain dogs or cats to my family room/kitchen or living room if needed and happy to accept crates if needed.
Pets
A typical day
Typically I will spend time playing and building trust with new dogs or cats. Once we are familiar with each other dogs can accompany me on walks in our local area (we have great trails and a park nearby). I have three energetic sons who absolutely love playing with kitties and pups so there would be no end of fun playmates.
