Before I start pet-sitting, it’s super helpful to know a few key things about your pet to ensure I can provide the best care: Routine & Preferences – Does your pet have a specific daily routine for meals, walks, or playtime? I want to stick to what makes them feel comfortable. Health & Medications – Any health concerns, allergies, or medications I should be aware of? I’m experienced with administering meds if needed. Behavioral Quirks – Are there any special needs or preferences, like favorite toys, safe spaces, or things they’re afraid of? Also, any signs of stress I should watch for? Diet & Feeding Schedule – What’s their feeding schedule and portion size? I’ll make sure they stay on track with their meals. Emergency Contacts – It’s always good to know who to reach out to in case of an emergency (vet details or a nearby friend/family member). The more I know, the better I can ensure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and happy while you're away!
A typical day
During a typical pet-sitting visit, I focus on giving your pet a mix of fun and care. I’ll start with some one-on-one time, whether it’s a cuddle or a quick play session with their favorite toy. If they enjoy walks, I’ll take them for a stroll to get some fresh air and exercise. After that, I’ll make sure they’re settled with some downtime—maybe a tasty treat or a bit of grooming, depending on their needs. I always check that their water and food are fresh and make sure their environment is clean and comfortable before I leave. Every visit is tailored to your pet’s personality, so they get the attention and care they deserve!

My 2 dogs stayed with Leigh for almost 2 weeks while our family was on vacation. I was very happy with the experience (& so were our dogs). Leigh has watched our 9 year old lab several times for about one week each time. She has always been very friendly and easy to work with. My dog is always very happy to see Leigh and they have a good relationship. Because I know my dog is in responsible hands I don't have to worry when I'm away.
