Emergency Vet Receptionist!
Though I’m new to Rover, I've watched animals for friends, family, and employers for the past 10 years and would love to chat with you to see if I can help you with yours. As a former receptionist at an emergency vet clinic and with extensive experience with my own fur babies, I'm very aware of the health risks to both cats and dogs and have training in recognizing signs of distress. I will work with you to establish an emergency plan beforehand if you are going on extended trips. I also have experience with several vets in the area and even bringing animals to the animal chiropractor. I know that every animal's personality is unique, and routines are important for managing stress. My goal is to be that trustworthy, consistent, and dependable addition to your animal's care team. We always had multiple cats and dogs at one time in my family home growing up. They were more than my animals; they were my brothers and sisters and beloved friends. I've loved and cared for 3 of my cats and 2 of my dogs into their senior years and through medical complications. I have experience with administering medications, including insulin to cats, animals with arthritis, and care after major procedures.

I respect all house rules and work with you to get every detail of care, big or small. You set how many updates you’d like to receive when away, but it’s standard for me to write a document of all activity and behavior after each of my visits for you and your vet to reference at any time. I’m happy to do initial home visits to make sure care works for us both.

General Experience Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highlights of Leeanne’s Care: - Great Communicator and Quick to Respond - Experience with Medical Care for Animals - Very Warm and Loving Personality (great for pets that may be nervous or anxious around strangers) Leeanne has looked after my kitty Marty Party several times and has always done an amazing job. She is very trustworthy and communicative and has experience working with animals with medical conditions. My kitty has bad separation anxiety and has UTI issues so he’s been on a special diet for several years now. She has always been able to care for his special diet while also giving him medications when needed. One time while I was on a business trip he had been experiencing an ongoing infection and needed oral medication via syringe multiple times a day. If anyone has ever tried giving a cat, let alone a young anxious kitty, oral medication then you know it is not an easy feat. Leeanne was able to administer his medication successfully each day which took a big weight off my chest knowing she had it under control. Over the years I have gotten to know more about Leeanne and her own animals Ellie Belle (an older golden retriever) and Baby May (an older Calico). She has done extensive research on animal health and even worked in an emergency vet at one point. She is also a strong advocate for animal gut health and regularly cooks her pup meals that are nicer than my own! I can attest that Leeanne has exemplary experience with animals and has a great background and trustworthy character. I will continue to come to her for all my care needs and advocate for her to anyone that will listen! 🙂

Schedule
I currently have open availability during weekdays M-F. I'm here to provide weekday support via check-ins and walks for busy families, as well as support with home visits if you are on vacation. I do work weekends, so my availability over weekends is limited.
