Pet care experience

Vet in the making, experienced in animal care.

I am a passionate and conscientious lady looking to broaden my knowledge with animals and their behaviour/ traits. I have studied animal behaviour and care while trained in college and I am currently studying veterinary nursing online as well as a few GCSE topics to retake so I can work within the Veterinary industry. I’ve have lots of experience in working with animals as well as owning a variety of pets myself. I adore working with them and take a lot of pleasure in teaching them how to live with us in the world. I love how every animal is different and I am willing to adapt to the needs of your furry friend. I have also volunteered at some veterinary practises and taken part in dog training (in person and) zoom class sessions which promotes positive reinforcement for dogs. During my time in college I also learned how to do dog grooming while volunteering at a local groomers. Although I am no qualified professional, this has inspired me to buy my own grooming tools to keep up my skills, I’d be happy to give your dogs a wash and cut either during my time with your dog or with your supervision if desired. I get on well with all age groups and with all domestic species I’ve met. I enjoy meeting with and helping people and appreciate seeing their relationships with their pets. Some of my aspirations are to work with/ acquire a good insight on dogs with undesirable behavioural issues and learn how to help and manage them; I am obsessed with veterinary work and behavioural work and in the future I wish to be a qualified veterinary surgeon. I’ve also always been interested in art as a hobby in which I’ve posted some of my work on my profile. If ever you’d like me to do a portrait of your pet please feel free to get in touch!

Pets

Safety, trust & environment

The way I care for your pets depends on their typical everyday routine. I also consider your pets emotional state and try to adapt, learn from and help them (if needed) to my best ability. I train using the relationship I have formed between you and your pet using positive reinforcement. I also have a car so can take the dogs on unlimited adventures with the owners permission.

Leah was lovely with Cora. She kept us informed with all the activities and plenty of photos. She did some training with her and Cora seemed happy and relaxed in her company.

Pippa loves Leah, which is rare because Pippa found it difficult to feel comfortable most house sitters were had tried previously. Leah clearly has an excellent knowledge and understanding of dogs, and I would particularly recommend her for anxious dogs with trust issues, such as Pippa.

Leah was absolutely brilliant with Dave! She provided great updates with plenty of pictures and even did some training with our little furry boy. Definitely recommend and we will use her again in the future! 😊

It’s important for me to know the breed, triggers, age and medical condition of your dog so that Im aware of their typical behaviours and needs of your pet. I also need to know how you manage the typical undesirable behaviours your dog may display on a bad day. I encourage owners to talk about their dogs personality and temperament too and feel free to share photos of your pets!
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
