Safety, trust & environment

Like humans, every pet has his/her own specific needs and requirements when it comes to needing top-quality care. My goal as a pet sitter is to get to know both the family and the pet, through building positive relationships and learning about each pet’s specific needs and routines. I strive to bring comfort and joy to each pet I encounter while their humans are away.

Information Leah S. would like to know about your pet

Although I may not have experience with certain things (e.g., performing CPR on a dog or cat), I am willing to learn how to do the things I don’t know so that I can take the best care of your pet(s) while you’re away. Please do not hesitate to inform me about any potential allergies, medications, special dietary needs, or routines your pets may have.

A typical day

I would love to go for an outdoor walk (or run) with your pet! Going outside to get some fresh air is great for overall health and wellness, and mentally and physically stimulating. Playing catch or going and just being present in nature is nice as well. In addition to being active outdoors, I also can’t forget about couch snuggles with a blanket and a good book, or a binge-worthy TV show. Balancing physical activity and moments of downtime are my ideal combination of how I will spend time with your pets.

Caring for pets brings fulfillment.

Pet care experience

I have previously taken care of pets for close family friends when I was in undergrad and I miss it dearly. Getting to know your pet(s) and the type of routines and care they need is something I respect and take seriously. Bringing comfort and joy to pets is a fulfilling and worthwhile occupation I enjoy. (It’s also a great way for me to destress as a graduate student!)

Leah took great care of our dog on her, four night stay. She communicated well, sent lots of pictures and even took our trash bins up to the house and mail inside. We will definitely be using her again.

Leah is a fabulous dog sitter!! I was hesitant at first to have anyone watch one of my dogs, since my dog was a rescue and was fearful of people and barked at everyone! Leah is the one exception. She has a calming influence and compassion for these animals - my dogs love her! She is also very responsible and committed. I was impressed when she learned how to administer the weekly shot that one of my dogs requires. She did it without hesitation - others have not been as willing. I highly recommend her!
