All animals welcome and loved equal

New Friends, Welcome! Current/Former Friends, I can’t wait to see you again! Please review my info to see if I’m the right fit for you. :) Can’t wait to meet you! I will treat your pet(s) just like my own. I know that it can be hectic or nerve wrecking leaving a family member (whether it be cat, dog, bird, bunny, etc.) at home while you’re away. I aim to provide a safe and fun experience for your pets. My past work includes being a veterinary technician at a local humane society and Rover sitter for 5 years, so I have experience with training, behavioral issues (food aggression, reactivity, etc.), and medication (oral, subcutaneous, topical, etc.). In the past, I have owned a rabbit, cats, and dogs. Currently, I am a PhD student at TAMU-CC working with tortoises, so I am up to date with exotic animal husbandry, if you have a different type of pet. My school schedule allows me the flexibility to care for your pets and adapt to their needs. Let me know any way that I can take care of your pet(s) and if there are any medications, special diets, or rules in place (ex. no dogs on furniture, training, set feeding schedule, etc.). I know that leaving your pet can be stressful, so I want to make sure they are getting the same care and routine! I’ll treat your animals just like my own. I’m used to every breed, behavior, and size dog/cat. I want to be able to treat your pet like family when you're away. I know that it can be difficult leaving your pets at home, so I want to give you peace of mind that they’ll be well cared for and cuddled. If you have a non-cat or dog animal, please let me know as I also watch exotic animals! :) 🐦🐢🦎 Service Types Below (please read all information before booking) Meet and greets: -I always offer a complimentary meet and greet for first time (new) friends for 15 minutes to go over the care instructions and to ensure that I am a good fit for your pet(s). Meet and greets are not necessary, especially for drop-ins and walks. If you would like one, just let me know and we can schedule it! Keys: -Keys are typically passed off at the meet and greet or left under a mat or in a lock box. If I need a code, please just let me know. You are welcome to drop them off at my house, as well. Keys are typically left on the counter, in lock box, under mat, or another safe location at the end of the visits. I do not offer key drop offs after visits end, but you are welcome to pick it up from my apartment. Drop-in visits: -minimum of 30 (or 60) minutes spent with your pets however you prefer. Let me know what needs to be done. I can feed, walk, clean litterboxes, administer medication, play, cuddle, take garbage can to curb, bring in mail, water plants, etc. -while I try to do drop-ins as close to selected time as possible, I can not always arrive exactly at selected time due to other drop-ins, traffic, work, other responsibilities, things that come up, etc. please keep in mind that drop-in requests may typically start up to an hour before or an hour after selected time, although I will try my best to be as close to the time selected. :) Walks: -minimum of 30 (or 60) minute walks around your neighborhood tailored to your dog’s style (sniffing versus walker vs speed walker). I always make sure that water bowls are filled upon return. If you need anything else done (ex. food or medication), just let me know and we will finish the walk a few minutes early so that I can take care of that. -while I try to do walks as close to selected time as possible, I can not always arrive exactly at selected time due to other drop-ins, traffic, work, things that come up, etc. please keep in mind that walk requests may typically start up to an hour before or an hour after selected time, although I will try my best to be as close to the time selected. Sitting: -I tailor house sitting to each request, so please message me and we can work out specifics. Please keep in mind that I do work during the day occasionally. Please note that for house sitting, dogs should be able to be left alone for 6 hours, otherwise there may be an additional charge. I sometimes work 4-5 hours for my job, but I let dogs out before and after. My dog is cat and dog friendly, so if your pets like play dates, then I can bring my pup over for some play time (only if discussed beforehand). ***Note about Holidays: Due to the high amount of check-ins, walks, etc. over the holidays, selected drop-in times may be flexible. I typically try to get within 2 hours of preferred time. Drop-ins during holidays typically occur in morning, afternoon, and evening based on where they are located. Please keep this in mind. If your pet requires medication at a specific time, please advise me on such beforehand so that I can make sure to keep them on the proper schedule!

Leah did an amazing job caring for my senior dog who has diabetes… she has a great rapport with her and did an amazing job with her care including her injections. She played with her and walked her during her visits and is so flexible with schedule and understanding her needs! Thank you for your fabulous care!

Schedule

I currently work sporadically and only usually up to 4-7 hours at a time, but not every day. Since I am a student at TAMU-CC, my schedule is highly flexible and I can adapt to needs fairly easily. My dog is my top priority and I will treat your pet(s) in the exact same way.

Where your pet will stay

Home characteristics

Lives in an apartment
Does not have a yard
Non-smoking household
Has 1 dog
No children present
Dogs allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 0-2 hours

Safety, trust & environment

I’m willing to continue all rules and training that is already put into place. Safety is always my top priority because pets are not simply pets, they’re family.

Pets

A typical day

I am willing to give your pet all the cuddles they could need. If they like playing with toys, then I will gladly throw them. If they love to go for walks, then say no more because I can always gets more steps in. I’m willing to tailor every service to your pet(s)’ styles

Cats
Takes only 1 client at a time
Leah can host up to 2 pets per night
Let me know if your dog has any medications, behavioral specifications (ex. separation anxiety, leash frustration, etc.), or any rules you have so that I can be sure to do the same (ex. if they’re not allowed treats or to be on furniture). One thing that I ask for house sitting is how long your dog can be left alone (as I occasionally have to work, go get food, go to gym, etc.) and the bedtime routine (kennel, bed, etc.)
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
