Hi! I’m Leah, a lifelong animal lover and proud dog mom to my two dogs, Winston and Dakota. I know how much trust it takes to leave your dog in someone else’s care, so my priority is making sure both you and your dog feel safe, comfortable and confident. My experience goes beyond everyday pet ownership. Growing up, I volunteered with the Oakville Humane Society, where I gained experience around animals with different personalities and needs. I also spent several years volunteering with Frontline K9 Manitoba, participating in spay/neuter and vaccination clinics, assisting with basic animal health needs, and supporting rescue and apprehension efforts. One of my greatest learning experiences has been my own dog, Dakota. Dakota is a rescue with a history of dog reactivity, which led me to invest extensively in professional training and learn as much as possible about canine behaviour, body language, triggers and safe handling. I’ve worked closely with trainers and completed multiple training programs with her, giving me hands-on experience managing and supporting a dog with more complex behavioural needs. Because of this experience, I’m comfortable reinforcing the training and routines you already have in place, including loose-leash walking, calm and structured walks, polite greetings, jumping, impulse control, basic cues and confidence building. I understand the importance of consistency and will always follow the methods, commands and boundaries you use with your dog. I’m especially understanding of reactive, anxious or sensitive dogs. I know that sometimes a successful walk means creating distance, changing routes, avoiding a trigger or simply giving a dog the time and space they need to feel safe. Every dog is different, and I’m happy to adapt my care to their personality, routine and needs. My goal is for your dog to have a safe, positive and enriching experience while giving you peace of mind knowing they’re being cared for by someone who genuinely understands dogs.
