Animal lover with much love to give
I have professional experience and training in various animal care roles, which has really helped me learn to work with all temperaments and needs. I was a lead animal tech for a dog hotel, which is where I was able to really fall in love with all breeds. I learned how to manage large play groups and keep all the fur babies happy, while watching dog’s behavior for signs leading to distress. I also worked in a veterinary hospital where I learned even more on keeping animals healthy and happy, as well as some grooming treatments. I volunteer at the Humane Society and Best Friends because I genuinely want to make all living things around me happier and make a difference where I can. I have been obsessed with all animals since I can remember, and have had the pleasure to experience and love so many different types and breeds. I would love to give your animals love!!

I am used to working with animals who may need a bit of reassurance or a bit more time to aclimate in a nervous environment. I have experience in shelter settings and a large history in health care, which makes me confident in deescalating situations and caregiving in general.

She went above and beyond of what was expected. Our dog and cat were lovingly taken care of and our home left spotless! Followed instructions!
Leah has taken care of my German Shepherd who has so much energy along with my 7 year old cat who’s terrified & anxious of almost anything with absolute care, patience, and love multiple times. Both of my animals require such a different level of care and affection which she has continuously provided. She makes sure my dog is able to express his energy taking him for long walks and throwing balls back and forth with him as well as making sure my cat gets the gentle safe environment he needs in order to come out from hiding to eat his meals & give some cuddles. 10/10 recommend her for your animals as well.
Leah Despain would be an incredible person for the job. I have had several dogs that she has cared for over the years. She is very timely, caring, and responsible. Leah has been incredible with my Australian Cattle Dog/Pointer mix, Wilbur. She takes time to meet the dogs where they are at, i.e. if they are in a playful mood, she is right there throwing the ball or playing tug or if they are tired, she is happy to be mellow. When I am not home, she keeps me updated on Wilbur and that is much appreciated. I have not had a pup that did not love Leah, and this makes me feel very comfortable with her watching over them. I am happy to have found her for Wilbur and any family pups, and I will definitely continue to utilize her help!

Schedule
My schedule is very open the next few weeks as I am preparing for upcoming trips. I have fairly open availability upon request. If needed, we can discuss me cleaning your space while you’re away as well. I would love to spend a lot of time with your fur baby!
