Information Leah B. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know what your dog is like at home. Any particular habits, good or bad, that I need to know about before their stay? Poop eater? Can't be trusted around children's toys? Separation anxiety? Needs to be crated when I go out? All these things we may be able to work with, I just need you to be honest about their personalities and their habits. Thanks!

A typical day

We usually have a dog or two here most of the time, so your dog may have a playmate or at least someone to hang with. We don’t get out much, but playing with balls and toys in the house or yard, and lots of snuggles and a few treats are always on the agenda.

Hello & Welcome! Please read my whole profile. Many FAQs will be answered HERE! **Meet n Greets are required In Advance for first time guests Before any booking is approved. Please allow enough time for the Meet n Greet to be scheduled before your stay, So, just in case the dogs don’t get along, you’ll have enough time before your trip to find another sitter. I generally don’t take last minute bookings due to the Meet n Greet requirements. It will be done in my backyard. We will not enter the house at this time. - All human and animal members of the household Must be relatively healthy without any contagious illnesses. - Dogs must be up to date on vaccines (Including K9 FLU & LEPTO - there have been outbreaks in the area), and flea control must be current. - I am fine with dogs that have pre-existing conditions that need medication, as long as they are well controlled, not contagious, and are being seen regularly by their vet. ****We also prefer dogs with low-moderate energy. Our senior dachshund was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease in his back, and he is losing his eyesight, so He has become increasingly uncomfortable & nervous around dogs that are high energy and try to play with him. So dogs that are calm and just hang out with him are preferred, please. We don’t want him getting hurt. Thank you for understanding.*** I am a Registered Veterinary Technician. I work part-time a few days a week at an animal hospital in Glendale. As an RVT, I can give oral medication, injections, or any other treatments that were prescribed by your vet. I am also familiar with many medical conditions your pet may have and how to care for them. The photos you see are mostly of previous boarders. Our dappled dachshund, Kobi, has had lots of experience with other dogs and gets along with most everyone. You will see him at our Meet n Greet. I also have many regular clients that frequently stay, so your dog NEEDS to be good around other dogs, especially small older dogs. **Also, we do not accept dogs on “Homemade” Raw Diets. Non-commercial raw diets pose too much of a health risk to my family and guests.** I take puppies on a case-by-case basis. We usually have older, middle-age dogs here that can get grumpy when puppies/young, large rambunctious dogs try to play with them All. The. Time. that’s why a Meet-n-Greet will be required in advance to make sure everyone is going to be happy together. I always want to make sure the dogs are a good match and that they enjoy their stay with new friends. I have a cozy 2 bedroom home with a fully enclosed backyard. Your dog will get the run of the house and be treated like a family member. They will be free to come and go, in and out of the backyard, as they please and be showered with love and affection. Sleeping will be the same: on their bed or our's. We love to snuggle! Please make sure your pets' vaccines are current. We have a number of dogs that come and go through here, so we don't want anyone getting sick! Fleas are also a fact of life. We try to make sure our house is flea-free; please make sure they are protected too! Mosquitos are currently an issue in our area. Heartworm prevention or a topical that protects against mosquitos is recommended. Our backyard has 3 steps up to the backyard grass/potty area. If your dog has trouble going up stairs, take a look at the pic of the ramp I have for my senior dachshund and see if you think that would work for them also. I am currently only taking a limited number of guests, usually 2-3, unless they are part of a family group. I want to be considerate of my neighbors. Along those lines, I prefer dogs that will not bark or be destructive when left alone. It generally isn’t for the whole day, but can be up to 6 hours at a time, if it is a work day for me. If you know that if your dog has a history of separation anxiety or destructive behavior when left alone, please know that however awesome your dog is normally, if they cannot be trusted by themselves for a few hours, this may be a factor for me not being able to take them. Or if they need some anti-anxiety medication, please have that available when they come. I also pet sit animals other than dogs outside of my home as my schedule allows: - Cats, Birds, Reptiles, rabbits, pocket pets, & other exotics 1x/day. If your pet will be fine staying at your home and you would like me to do drop-in visits: feed, play, hang out with them while you are away, please contact me. I will be happy to come over for a Meet-N-Greet! Thank you, Leah

Our furrbaby had a good time with Leah, but most important to us was that Leah was able to give him his medications including shots.

Leah was super with our 2 dachshunds. She has one of her own and even had a ramp in her backyard where there are a few stairs. Luna and Dino felt safe, and loved besides having lots of fun during doggy day care. Thank you Leah!
