Pet care experience

my best friend has hooves

Howdy! I'm a 24 year old graduate student, long-term based in St. Louis. I'm the owner of 3 dogs (Ollie, Benji, Cash), 3 cats (Blue, Lulu, and Korra) and 1 horse (Scooby)! I'm often trusted at the barn to take care of others' horses, and I'm also a favorite of the barn cats. I've been riding and taking care of horses since I was a little kid, so nothing about animals intimidates me in the slightest. I don't have a weak stomach; I've dealt with every kind of mess that animals can make. I've had old pets and young, sick and healthy, my entire life. I've had my horse for seven years now, and he's taught me everything about being a pet parent: effective time management, self-confidence, resilience, responsibility, and the importance of following an animal's routine. Any experienced equestrian knows that horses can be very delicate creatures. This has made me an incredibly careful caregiver, with a greater attention to detail than most. Once, during a drop-in, I noticed that one of the older cats had lost a back tooth, walked the entire house until I found it, and was able to alert the owner. I frequently help friends with their horses when they're on vacation. Last winter, I helped out with a friend's very old, somewhat-sick former grand prix competing horse. I am absolutely not a stranger to caring for other peoples' pets. I've had just about every kind of dog there is, and several of my childhood dogs were over a hundred pounds. I genuinely love animals and adore spending time with them, and meeting their pet parents is pretty great too! I would love to watch your animals and am flexible with time/distance. Thanks so much for checking out my profile and I hope to hear from you soon! 🐾

I keep to the animal's original routine as closely as possible! If the animal wants to play or just hang out, I will definitely comply. If they're high energy and need extra walks, I can do that! If they have a certain time to be fed or a way that things are done within the house, just let me know and I can make it work. Texted or printed instructions are helpful, especially revolving any medication the animal(s) are on! I'm extremely careful about feeding routines, medical needs, and locking up when I'm not at a client's house.

Lauryn did a great job staying in our home with our pup. She followed our instructions for feeding and meds and sent updates with pictures. It was our first booking with Lauryn and we’ll certainly book her again and would recommend!

Lauryn was fantastic watching my dog, Leo, and my bird, Sammie, this past weekend! Leo is a high-energy pup, but Lauryn kept him perfectly entertained and active. She was equally great with my bird, showing a real knack for avian care. Throughout the stay, she checked in frequently and sent plenty of photo updates, which I truly appreciated. She is incredibly communicative and easily one of the best sitters I’ve found on Rover in years. I highly recommend her and have already booked her for another upcoming stay!

Lauryn stayed at our house for ten days and took fantastic care of our two older dogs with multiple medication needs. She sent great photos that made us confident the dogs were well loved and the house looked amazing when we got back.

Lauryn was amazing. Great communicator. Sirius had no anxiety about me being gone with her calm and gentle presence. Loved her knowledge about the bigger breeds.

Lauryn can host up to 3 drop-ins per day
Medical needs, feeding routines, any reactivity (to other dogs and/or people), how often the dog needs to go outside, and any special quirks to watch out for. Please let me know if the animal is destructive in any way or has any separation anxiety. Wifi passwords are a necessity for any stay longer than 24 hours. I prefer to cover all of these things during a meet & greet, if possible!
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
