I live in the Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria with my husband and our cat named Nutella. I am generally available 7 days a week, any time of day to visit and care for your kitty (or kitties)!

I keep a pristine litter box; I am good at reading how much or how little each cat wants to play, snuggle, or simply hang; and I know exactly where the nearest emergency vet is should that ever be needed (don’t worry, it won’t!)

A typical day
I am delighted to have your cat on my lap or to give them space if that’s more their style. I will bring new toys and look forward to playing with whatever favorites you have on hand. I am great at following any and all directions or schedules for feeding, medicine, or other needs.

Cat lover since last century!
Cat care experience
I’ve had one or more cats my entire life, since the early 1970s! I am currently a writer, working from home, with a 10-year old tabby cat who rarely leaves my side. In a past life, when I was a much younger gal, I was a frequent cat sitter for friends, family, and neighbors. Now that I’m semi-retired, I thought I’d get back in the game. I live in the Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria; know what to do and where to go in the case of cat emergencies; can take last minute bookings; and will care for your cat and home like they are my own!

Laurie was so amazing with my cats! They took to her right away and she understood all their weird quirks amd requirements. Her pictures were super cute and I loved reading her reports every day. I felt very comfortable knowing she was looking after them while I was away. Will definitely book again 🥰😻
This was the first time I’ve ever used a pet sitter I did not know personally, and I was admittedly nervous! Laurie exceeded far beyond any expectations I had and I would absolutely recommend her one million times over! She treated my kitties like her own and went above and beyond taking extra special care when one of them decided to have some tummy troubles while we were away. Her daily updates were detailed and exactly on time. She is extremely thorough and very caring! I will use her again every single time in the future!
Laurie was wonderful! She immediately responded to our short notice request and quickly responded to messages all weekend. We are so grateful for how well she took care of our cat. We were so comfortable leaving our cat in her very capable hands.
