I don’t have a daily routine or pets of my own at this time, I have learned that pet care becomes a set of repeating rhythms spread across the day rather than one big task. A typical routine often looks like this: * Morning: feeding, fresh water, a walk or litter-box cleanup, and a quick check that the pet seems normal in energy and behavior. * During the day: exercise, play, mental stimulation, bathroom breaks, and attention that matches the animal’s needs. * Evening: another meal if needed, more activity or bonding time, grooming for some pets, and preparing a comfortable sleep setup. * Less frequent tasks: brushing, nail trims, cleaning habitats or bedding, training, medications, and vet appointments. Different pets shift the balance a lot. A dog may anchor your day around walks and exercise, while a cat may need shorter play sessions and litter maintenance.

Good home pet care usually includes consistent food and fresh water, regular exercise and play, a clean living space, grooming, and attention to health and behavior. Dogs often need walks and training; cats need litter-box maintenance and play. I also watch for changes in appetite, energy, or behavior because those can be early signs that something is off.

What you end up doing depends a lot on the pet, but pet watching often turns into more activities than people expect. A typical mix can look like: * Dogs: walks around the neighborhood, fetch, tug-of-war, hide-and-seek with treats, teaching simple tricks, park visits, car rides (if allowed), and plenty of “follow you everywhere” companionship. * Cats: wand-toy hunts, laser games, puzzle feeders, brushing sessions, window bird-watching, and spontaneous lap time if they’re social. * Small pets (rabbits, guinea pigs): supervised play areas, enrichment toys, gentle handling, and feeding routines. * Any pet: photo sessions, learning their personality quirks, making little routines, and sometimes discovering they have unexpectedly hilarious habits. The entertaining part is often the unscripted stuff: a dog proudly bringing you the same toy 40 times, a cat supervising everything you do, or a pet deciding your work chair now belongs to them.

Great Strides for Dog Adventures
Erfahrung in der Haustierbetreuung
Hi! I’m an experienced and reliable dog walker with a genuine love for animals and a passion for providing safe, attentive care. I’ve worked with dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, and personalities—from energetic puppies who love adventure to senior dogs who need a slower pace and extra patience. I understand that every dog is unique, so I take time to learn their routines, personality, and individual needs to make sure they feel comfortable and happy. My goal is to give your dog not only exercise, but also companionship, attention, and a positive experience while you’re away. I’m dependable, patient, and committed to treating every dog like family. Safety is always my top priority, and I believe in positive reinforcement, consistency, and building trust with both pets and owners. You can count on regular updates and communication so you can feel confident knowing your furry friend is in caring hands. I look forward to meeting you and your pup and becoming someone both of you can rely on!

Laurie has taken care of my dog. She was considerate and took great care of my baby. She loves animals and I have seen how well she took care of her own dog. I can recommend her without hesitation!
I have known Laurie for over 20 years, she has been a dog owner for most of that time. Her dogs, and at times, she has had more than one, were considered a part of her family. Their health and happiness has always been a major focus in her daily life. She notices very quickly if something is “off” with their behavior and seeks medical help quickly. I have also witnessed, several times, her initial contact with neighbors dogs. She offers a gentle approach, taking her cues from the dog. I have never witnessed any pup not happy to be with her. All that said, she is mature, reliable and trust worthy. And, yes, I would never hesitate having her care for any of my pets for long or short term.
