I currently work from home full time and a female Goldendoodle who loves all people and all dogs. She loves having visitors and can be active and playful and also likes to chill and snuggle. We have a decent sized back yard with grass and a doggie door. We live in a quiet neighborhood on a cul de sac with big sidewalks for long walks. I have been helping friends and watching their pets for years and now I have decided to try it as a profession. I have a teenage boy at home who love dogs too and love to help play and snuggle. I like to take frequent breaks from my desk job and play with the dogs in the backyard throughout the day or go out for a walk when the weather permits.

Our backyard is fenced in with secure doors. We have never had any experiences with our own dogs getting out. We have a doggie door for animals to have access to our grassy backyard at any time. The steps can be closed for any dogs where there is a risk of swimming at their leisure. Since I work from home, animals will have the chance to go out as often as hourly if they aren't going to use the dog door. We don't have small children so there aren't small items on the ground that could be choking hazards and we are very particular about our dog toys.

It's important to know about each dog's special needs and behavior. Maybe a dog doesn't like other dogs bothering them or they are protective of their food or bones? Safety is my main priority so if I am made aware of any behavioral issues, I can take the necessary steps to avoid any triggers or avoid a dog dragging me on a walk if they see something they want to chase. Also, it's important to know of any allergies or bladder issues.
A typical day
The dogs love to hang in my office with me every day. Each time I leave the room, they leave the room. I find myself talking to them non-stop throughout the day too. We always take at least 1 morning walk when it's not too hot and often an additional walks during the day so I can step away from work, and another at night if the weather is good. I love going in the backyard to play with them as well.

Pet care experience
I have owned dogs since I was in college. Bringing home stray dogs and taking care of them was my specialty. It didn't matter how busy my schedule was, I found the time to hang with the dogs and care for them. That's why they all wanted to sleep in my bed. I have owned all types of dogs with all kinds of traits. From shy dogs with allergies and skin issues, and dogs with special dietary concerns and now to my most recent babies who are Golden Doodles - who LOVE all other dogs and get along with everyone. I love spending time with my dogs and my family jokes I treat them better than my kids. I have trained 4 doggies from puppies to adults and have had several adult dogs who needed medicine and extra care. We even had a Shar Pei who we administered IV fluids every other day for several years and I made homemade food to keep her kidneys strong. Safety is my top priority and love is second. I have found it very hard to find quality and affordable in-home dog care for my own fur babies and want to be able to provide it for other families. There's nothing more comforting about leaving your babies home and knowing they are happy and getting lot's of love. I limit the number of dogs I allowed to stay with us to keep my house clean and safe.

This was the first time we had ever left our 3 yr old Cavapoo with anyone outside family and were very nervous. Laurie was great with prep and giving daily updates with pics. Soba came back happy and healthy and we would definitely use Laurie again. She gave us peace of mind while we were away.
I could not be happier with the care Izzy received! The attention to her special medication and food was outstanding. I loved the great photos and updates. It was clear she enjoyed plenty of exercise and playtime with the other dogs. She came home happy, healthy and well cared for. Thank you for going above and beyond!
Laurie was amazing with Delta and Whiskey, communication was awesome and the pictures we got while we were gone were incredible!
Beto did great with Laurie, she was super responsive, sent pictures and was such a welcoming host for my little guy. He is a very active and energetic sweetheart but he is a lot to handle at times. I got the feeling Laurie took the best care!
