Hello! I'm a lifelong animal lover and teach for an educational non-profit organization in Pittsburgh. I grew up on a farm so I'm no stranger to dogs and cats (and horses, cows, sheep, etc.)! I have a mini-dachshund, Bijou -- truly the sweetest little pup. Whether you'd like to have your pet stay with us in my home with a fenced yard, or if you'd prefer I come to you, I look forward to caring for your dog or cat. I also have experience with puppies and understand their particular needs. Please reach out with questions! I'm open to pets with different types of needs.

Another great experience! Communication was always prompt and thoughtful, and she treated our home with care and respect. She understands my “socially challenged” dog and takes excellent care of her. There were a few days she wasn’t available, and she even helped us find another sitter—who turned out to be just as great! She truly went above and beyond.
Laurie was incredible with our two cats the week we were away! She sent pictures and videos every day and made sure to play with them enough to tire them out at night. She made me feel so comfortable leaving them and the house was in great condition when we got back home :)
We were so lucky to find such a wonderful sitter during the Thanksgiving holiday! From the very first meet-and-greet, we felt completely comfortable. She was punctual, and it was clear from the start that she was friendly and professional. My dog and even my toddler warmed up to her instantly, which was such a relief! She kept us updated daily with pictures, which was so reassuring, and was always quick to respond to any messages. We were also impressed with how respectful she was of our home, and how she handled a few unexpected tasks like working with a faulty sliding door lock and even setting a faucet to drip due to freezing temperatures—she most likely saved our house from potential damage! The best part was knowing that she was taking excellent care of our dog and keeping her happy. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter, and we're so grateful for all the care she provided. Laurie was amazing with out animals (dogs and cat). She took wonderful care of our fur babies and home. Excellent communication throughout our trip. Highly recommend! We plan to rebook in the future whenever possible.
Laurie has watched my two cats on many occasions when I travel. I trust her implicitly with my pets. She is a loving caretaker and an animal adorer. She is very present with my pets, knowledgeable about animal care, and takes time to always communicate with me how my pets are doing while I am away. I highly recommend Laurie!!

Schedule
I have some flexibility with my schedule and I'm willing to talk through what will work best for you. My dog Bijou goes nearly everywhere with me (though she would not need to come to your house).

I own my home and have a small/medium sized fenced yard. Animals are very important to me and I will always do my best to create a safe and cozy atmosphere for them by understanding their needs. I respect each person's approach to care for their pets and will defer to your suggestions and wishes!
Pets
A typical day
I love to take dogs to the park and/or play with toys inside. I like to play games that keep pets engaged like hiding treats for them to sniff out, etc. I'm also a fan of snuggling! If your pet likes dogs, my dog Bijou will be thrilled to meet them. If not, I totally understand!
