I believe exceptional pet care is about more than feeding, walks and letting the dog out—it’s about giving you complete peace of mind while you’re away. I provide personalized, in-home care tailored to your pet’s individual routine, personality and needs, while also keeping a watchful eye on your home. My love of animals began at age 12, working in a kennel, and has continued for more than four decades. Over the years, I’ve bred and trained Afghan Hounds and Doberman Pinschers and have owned and cared for everything from Chihuahuas, poodles, Italian Greyhounds and retired racing Greyhounds to German Shepherds, Collies, Retrievers, Danes, Mastiffs and other large and working breeds. I’ve also fostered and rescued many others and have owned three horses as well. My experience also includes extensive cat care. I’ve owned Siamese and Persian cats and have cared for Maine Coons, Devon Rexes, American Shorthairs and others. I understand cats have their own unique personalities and routines and I respect their individual comfort levels—whether they want companionship and affection or prefer a little independence. In addition to the pets I care for through Rover, my past experience includes years of providing care through personal referrals and established client relationships. This has given me the opportunity to work with a wide variety of pets, personalities and individual care. I’m comfortable caring for puppies and kittens, seniors, toy breeds, giant breeds and pets requiring a little extra attention. I can administer oral medications and injections and have experience with IV bags, senior care and post-surgical home care when appropriate and according to your veterinarian’s instructions. Safety is always my first priority. I pay close attention to doors, gates, fences, collars, leashes, medications, routines and changes in your pet’s behavior. I ask questions and anticipate the “what ifs” because I believe excellent pet care begins with preparation. While your pets are always my primary focus, I can also help keep your home running smoothly by bringing in mail, packages, watering plants, taking out garbage and keep a watchful eye on your home while you’re away. After retiring from the medical/dental profession following 37 years, I’m able to devote my time and attention to providing the kind of dependable, knowledgeable and compassionate care I would want for my own animals.
