Pet care experience

Horse trainer & avid animal lover

Hello! Thanks for reading! My husband and I own a farm on a back road. I am a horse trainer, I also teach riding lessons. We have a lot of land to roam and ponds if you wish your pup to swim. We have smaller fences for playing but we mostly leash (long leash or off leash if applicable) walk 3/4 times per day with additional potty breaks as needed. I own an amazing senior pit bull, a young blue heeler , horses, goats, of course a few cats. I specialize in working with troubled horses & dogs. I have a lot of experience with working dogs (Shepards, heelers, etc) & bully breeds. I work from home 95% of the time. I truly enjoy meeting new pets and to spend quality with your fur babies. I have an outstanding amount of experience with many different animals and behaviors. I have worked in a dog grooming facility & along side vets. It was an amazing experience. We are willing to work with all your pets needs. We have our house set up so that the dogs do not have to interact if they don’t desire but are welcome to play and interact should they wish. We aim to keep every pet safe, happy and healthy! We are happy to watch your pup for short or extended length stays. Please make sure all pets are up to date on shots and flea/tick. We appreciate it! We can offer add-ons to your experience as well. They include pickup, drop off, bathing, light grooming, & training. We hope to hear from you soon and be in contact to watch all your fur children! Thanks for your time! We will see you soon!

Weird vibes. Ultimately our was dog returned alive, but anxious, and smelling vaguely of poop, and the tote bag we use for his food and doggie bowls smelled like dog urine. No idea what his accommodations were like. Ollie our 20 lb cavapoo was supposedly in the house. However, on drop-off, when I approached a building with barking dogs, I was discouraged from coming any closer. Lauren claims he is only crated when she steps out. I saw other reviewers were likewise not allowed to view the premises. Makes you wonder... I had to ask multiple times to get photos/videos, ultimately i got two videos and one photo across his five day stay. After multiple requests, the first media came in at 10pm on the second day of boarding. The excuse given for the sparse photo/video delivery was that app wasn't working/photos failed to send. The owner claims to run video-driven remote horse training sessions all day which would seem to require a strong internet connection in at least one place on the farm... Communication was not great. With the booking request open I had to be the one to ask her to confirm the booking. Sometimes the tone was friendly sometimes a bit cold. I had food sent over to the house, and she never confirmed delivery... I was an hour or so late on drop off, which Lauren accommodated. The pick up window was originally given as either before 8am or after 8pm, due to her schedule. If that was the case who would be taking care of Ollie during that 12 hour period? Bathroom breaks, feeding, etc... Compared to my typical Rover experience: I'm warmly welcomed, the owner provides a brief look at the property/facilities where the dog is to be kept, and makes an effort to welcome the dog upon arrival and photos and videos are sent daily along with updates. Lauren's response as in previous negative reviews will likely be dismissive and defensive, but I've done my best to represent reality based on my actual experience during drop off, pickup, and the actual chat history.

Lauren and family made leaving our boy Brew a relaxing and comforting experience while we went away for a weeks vacation. The moment I met her I knew Brewtus would be in good hands. Anytime I texted about Brewtus she was quick to respond, kept us updated with pictures and videos. I would definitely recommend her and will most definitely be using her services and care again!! Thank you! BREWTUS is now part farm dog!😆😍🥰💙 thank you again for peace of mind!!!!

Lauren was flexible with our late breaking schedule. Shadow had a great visit and was happy and tuckered out when we collected him. Will book again!

As a horse trainer, I thought Lauren would be a great dog sitter. I was sadly mistaken. Leo is a nervous pup but very loving and he craves human affection. Sadly, he came home limping and with bloody front paws from constantly pawing at the fence he was left in (apparently within the house according to Lauren). I have no idea how long he was kept in the fenced area but it must have been some time to cause him to have bloody front paws and to be limping. I mistakenly thought he’d have freedom within the house, which is what distinguishes home care from a kennel in my mind, but that wasn’t the case. He also can back skinny and gaunt. In a mere 5 days, I could see his ribs clearly and it seemed from the leftover food in his food container that he barely ate. As a 50 pound dog, he lost 8 pounds in mere five days. Leo was so depleted after his stay that he slept for 16 hours straight after he returned to us and he ate ravenously bc he was so hungry. Lauren mentioned in a text to me that Leo was anxious and was “scratching to get out”, but I thought she meant scratching at the door to go outside. She never told me he was fenced in within the house. She also told me that Leo that he wasn’t eating full rations, etc, but she never made clear the severity of the problem. Leo was obviously so nervous and unhappy with Lauren that he was hardly eating anything. If I had known how bad it was, I would have gladly retrieved Leo immediately. My wife and kids were nearly in tears upon seeing Leo after his return because it was obvious what a horrible stay he had at Lauren’s for 5 nights. We felt guilty for leaving him in our care. A good dog sitter would have either suggested to the owner to retrieve their dog or would have at least taken extra measures to calm the dog that was obviously unhappy with what ever fenced in arrangement she had him in. I’m extremely unhappy with our experience and will never use or recommend Lauren to any owner who loves their pet. I will also make sure to more carefully vet any dog sitter by setting the inside of the house and fully understanding where my dog will be staying and whether he would be cordoned off on his own in a fenced off area. The experience we and Leo had with Lauren scared both Leo and us.
