Animal Lover That’s Happy To Assist
Aloha! I’m a lifelong animal lover and over the years have helped care for many friends, family, and neighbors pets while they were away. I grew up on the east coast with 3 dogs as my father bred Belgian sheepdogs and competed in dog shows. I gained a lot of knowledge and experience about proper care and training from my father that I have carried with me to the big island! I love sending pictures and updates to my clients so their minds are at ease during their travels! I’m experienced with pets requiring specialty care such as medications, specific diets, and post surgical care. I’ve also cared for animals on ranches/farms including chickens, ducks, pigs, goats, and sheep.

Lauren is AWESOME!!! Our family consists of five female Golden Retrievers, mothers (13 years old) and daughters (8 years old) who have never been left alone without either my husband or myself at home with them. They are our cherished babies so you can just imagine how devastating it was to leave them behind for a long overdue vacation for both of us. I cried the entire flight over to our destination not realizing how hard it would be to leave them alone (our son was away in Guam working too). However, as we were checking in to our hotel, I started receiving text messages from Lauren filled with pics of our babies with smiling faces and their usual routines, especially their favorite...snack time! Lauren sent us tons of pics everyday throughout our trip making it super easy for us to relax and rest assured our babies were in great hands. It didn't take long for all of them to attach themselves to Lauren, and ended up in sleeping with her from the very next day! My brother stopped by for a visit to take them to Gramma's next door to provide some familiarity, but to his surprise, they never listened to him calling them over. Once Lauren commanded them to go, they listened and went running to visit Gramma, but our youngest of the pack, Kalea, kept whining to go back to Lauren! We came home to a happy family, clean and tidy house, and Lauren who stayed on to fill us in on their adventures. Will definitely be calling on Lauren again and again!
This was our first experience with our Rover Lauren and we could not have been more pleased. We were worried that our “difficult” senior dog would not get along but from the moment they were introduced it was a great match. Our family was able to go on vacation without any worries. Lauren communicated well and sent lots of pictures and we returned to a neat and tidy home. Thanks Lauren and we look forward to working with you soon!
Lauren was so very gentle, respectful and attentive towards all my kitties, and I have a handful of them. I loved receiving the lovely photos she sent during her stay as it made me feel connected. During one stressful incident with one of my most skittish cats she took all the proper measurements to ensure we were updated on his status. She really went out of her way to make sure she did everything she could to ensure his wellbeing and always communicated so well. I would definitely trust her to stay with my pets again. Looking forward to seeing her again in the future and can highly recommend her to anyone needing a person that provides considerate care for their pets.

Lauren did a fantastic job handling a LOT of animals for us. 6 dogs (1 young puppy), 5 sheep, 3 pigs, 5 ducks and 2 tortoises. Nothing she couldn't handle!

During the week I work remotely as a website analyst. Working remotely allows me the time and space to also pursue my passion for animal caretaking. I’m proud to be able to provide a service where pets can stay at home, where they are happiest and most comfortable. I’m currently living in Honoka’a but am willing to travel islandwide.

A typical day
I like to ensure that the dogs in my care are getting the exercise they need and are mentally stimulated. Throughout the day I like to get in walks along with play time for them. Depending on the area, I take them on walks around the neighborhood and nearby parks.
